They maintain moisture depending on the ones you buy. You can get them in 49%, 60%, and a few other options if I'm not mistaken. They sell them in different RH% for other things, like cigars or spices and what have you.

I was actually mistaken and said the incorrect RH, you want 55%-60%. This guide is all you need for curing.

Drying is going to be more dependent on your environment. If you live in an extremely dry (under 15% RH) then you'll actually want to leave most of the leaves on when you're drying because it will help slow things down just a tad. A humidifier is also a good investment.

Somewhere more humid you'll want to remove as much of the leaves as you can. The amount of leaves you leave on, or remove, will be depending on your environment's RH. Nice thing about grow tents is when you harvest your plants you can just dry straight in there, roomy enough, and should have good temp/humidity control in place already. Or you can even build a room out of rigid insulation boards and duct tape, as long as the temps and humidity is spot on.

I've noticed since I stopped leaving my lights on 24/0 during veg and switched to 18/6 that the smell of my buds overall has intesified. I think it has something to do with the plant storing carbs at night and producing terpenes with it Im not sure but the plants buds are much more appealing too

I've used both bovedas & integras. IMO & IME the integras are better.
Both are great for long term storage.
Wrongly used as a dry or cure agent...IMO.
Bovedas do something to the nose and taste of the ganja.
The integras didn't. These are my opinions and experiences.
I'll admit.The bovedas affecting the ganja could've been me not using them correctly,at first.
I no longer use the packs unless I have a jar of bud I want to keep around until I can run it again.

thanks for the input. i''ll have my integras for this round of storage after harvest. i've got some containers that are almost a year old and the smell is gone, the taste is still kinda there and the potency is definitely still there. to be honest, the smell is nice but as long as the potency is still there, that's my main goal.

I did a fair bit of reading about curing before I harvested. When I used to grow 8 or so years ago I didn't really know anything about curing.

I only had the GSC drying for about 5 days before I put it in the jar, but it was probably a bit too hot, and it dried faster than I expected. When I first put it in, the hygrometer was reading at 58%, and I wanted to bring it up a bit, so a added a fan leaf. It came up to 62% and was holding steady (still is). I was still burping it for about 15-20min a day for about a week, and it was smelling really nice and dank. But like I said, I just left it for about two days, because I kind of thought it was good to go, and the smell totally changed. Opened it up today and a bit of the dankness was back.

I paid more attention to the SB, noting my earlier mistake, and jarred it up at the point where the small stems snapped and the big stems cracked. Put it in the jars, and initially the RH was reading at about 67-68%, been burping it a couple of times a day. It's currently in the basement and the hygros are reading 62% at about 72 degrees.

yes, only because it was placed in the freezer afterwards

This might be some bro SCIENCE but I think if you do the 48 dark before harvest they seem to have more smell.

I have some bubba kush 6+ months old.Forgot I had the jar stashed away from my usual spot. It doesn't smell the same as jarred(no humidity pack). The nose isn't weaker,it's not as strong or fresh smelling as when they went in,but it is more complex if that makes sense.
It's also nearly gone as I tend to reach for that jar more often.

kinda but it works, i think of them ramping up the levels internally because the lights never came on

Summer i have to dry in stages 65/60/55/ especially when its random rainy weather. it sucks.
Winter its 30% with the heat running and naturally dry, I FUCKIN LOVE WINTER also 30% humidity makes even the shittiest weed look so frosty.

The funk is there, put it in your garage or car SEALED! and come back in two hours, ill bet ya know its there just by smell.

The way I do it is I just hang the whole plant up for about 7 days. Then trim it.. turkey bag it . And it’s ready for smoke and smells like crazy Never has an issue with. No smell

Large plastic bags used for cooking turkeys. You can get various sizes of bags and they work good for storing large amounts.

If you live in a warm dry area where your hizzo is around 20% humidity and over 80f should you just let it dry (it will be fast) and jar it to let the inside moisture sweat out or turkey bag it, open it to the point you get %50 RH on your cheapo hydrometer, and then jar it when u can snap a twig? Thanks!
