Re-usable too...just watch out when you stick your hand down the hole to fetch the trap, sometimes the gopher isn't dead yet, and I assure you they're thoroughly pissed off at that point.

Get some flash powder and make M-80's, kidding of course. Yeah, you can try blocking the hole w/chicken wire etc., more than likely it will dig around it.

I use 1" chickenwire and make 2' DIA cages for my babies. of course I trap and also use industrial poisons to kill the little bastards.
we go to war with the bastards lol. I killed and collected 14 bodies last year and when I was done nobody on my block had gophers lol.

ive tried everything from baits to the poison smoke sticks, or trying to flood the hole with a hose. (ran hose for two days straight into hole and it never filled up >.< ) so i started keeping 5gal buckets filled up around the yard. as soon as i saw a fresh hole i would flood with a bucket or two. gotta get a large volume of water in as quick as possible or it really wont do any good. after a week of doing this the gophers decided to start backfilling their holes by 2ft so i couldnt flood them. finaly ended up waiting around in the yard with a pellet gun and shot the little bastards as they were eating or clearing a hole. a buddy that lives off in the middle of nowhere likes to sit on his porch and plink them off with a 30/06 from a few hundred yards

I once had a colony of gophers in my front yard quite a few years ago already. I would sit in the house and watch tv and keep an eye out the window for them then I'd shoot em with a 22 after awhile I set up a mirror on the oposite wall so i didnt even have to get up and physically look out there for them. lol but I could never get them all and boy did it piss me off somethin fierce let me tell you. Finally one day I was mowing and hit another damn hole scuffed my yard pretty good with the blades. so not only did I dull the blades but also took a chunk of sod out as well. Pissed me off so bad I went in the shop got myself two 5 gal cans of gasoline, went out there started dumping the shit down the holes. 10 gal later walked back to the shop got me a golf club put some gas on the club lit her up walked over to the closest hole and let that some bitch rip. no shit flames came out the ground in like 15 different spots, the ground shook like a mother fucker, I swear my whole front lifted up a good 2 inches then settled back down. them little fucker's were coming out left and right. little fucking fireballs waiting to get fucking drive down the range with the trusty ole #3 wood driver. I must've smacked 5-6 six of the sons a bitches. Morale to the story is this, I fucking despise gophers and I aint never had another in my front yard. filled them holes and aint looked back. sad day to be a gopher around me I tell ya. they dont even hang on my 1/2 mile driveway anymore. I figure one of them bastards survived and told the rest they better pack and get the fuck outta dodge cuz that mother fucker is crazy!! 
True story btw. I put up with the bastards for a good 2 years thinking they would just leave the yard but instead got more and more until there were no more
