yo northwood,

how do you mean yall lost yall guns?

grand fathered type of deal or where the guns confiscated?
Lost up to now means they can't leave the safe. We can't shoot them, even at a licensed range. I'll probably go for the buyback program because it's of no use anyway.

So my plan is to take the $1200 or whatever it is, and use the money to replace it for a similar rifle that I can use in 3-gun.

they're called thumbs...
Yikes! I thought you were going to show me your two wives! Haha

Edit: On second thought, that was very inappropriate in a politically incorrect sense, and for that I apologize to all women. Men are capable of loading mags too. It's just that my ex-wife could load a 9mm magazine with a UPLULA in like under 1 second per cartridge, and that includes the time going to the next if mags were in a row! Lol She wasn't any master shooter, but managed to be among the middle of the male shooting pact in IPSC. She did get as far as a Class B shooter with her Classifiers as well. Thank goodness my ex is gone though.

...and I heard the us ammo prices went thru the roof during covid?
Not just prices, availability went to shit, most stores didn't have any .380, 9mm, 45 acp....online stores were out of stock.
I bought a couple of boxes at gun shows, for 65-80 bucks a box....Then I got lucky and got a few hundred rounds of reloaded shells from a place called Lake Martin Machine Gun or LMMG Munitions. The price was not bad, about 50 cents a round, and they do good work, haven't had a dud out of the batch yet, and have gone to the range several times
