Got this PH tester ordered......anyone ever used it? Opinions?

I don't have an interior designer's eye for color but it's pretty easy to consistently get within a tenth of actual pH with a little practice.

A quick example with GH drops:


In my experience, 6.0 is yellow, above gets progressively green, below gets progressively red.

To me, your 6.1 looks tinged with red, which I'd interpret as just below 6 based on the color key printed on the bottle. Maybe an issue of lighting and/or monitor settings. The plan is to keep using drops for large adjustments and the meter for fine tuning, assuming it arrives functional.

I'm gonna be honest. I don't test the EC or tds when I hydro, I just look at the plants and add it subtract accordingly. That being said I have the Apera PH60 just the ph meter and I have had it since '21... I definitely don't store it right, and treat it pretty poorly. It's still calibrated perfectly and reads perfectly and I only did the initial calibration once. The probe has gone dry a few times and even grew algae on it once. Cleaned it off and good as new 10/10 have zero bad things to say about apera
