@Warpedpassage has it right There are hundreds and hundreds of satisfied customers who do tons of return business with GLG. Too much return business if anything. I cant's remember hearing ANY complaints about GLG other than speed of delivery and worries about what's going on with slow orders. It's required some patience and understanding lately and if you're not willing to accept that from a (mom and pop) business, you're justified if you want to go to a different company. But most people feel VERY confident that GLG IS NOT shady and LOVE all other aspects of his operation. Perhaps he's bitten off a little more than he can chew and is "in the weeds" at the moment but I'll keep going back. You should too (provided you don't NEED fast fast delivery at the moment).

I've ordered at least 7 times over the last 2 or 3 years. Each order has taken progressively longer. 9 days to fill the order... I was cool with that. 10 days to get it to USPS... That's ridiculous. I don't know what convoluted system he has for filling and mailing orders, but I bet Rube Goldberg would be proud.
i think as the word spreads about great services, sales, & freebies, more & more orders pour in. also by not hiring a crew of 50 to work, prices stay low & integrity stays high. i have been with glg for 5 years now & never been done wrong. at one point in time i shipped out on a friday, it arrived monday, & i had beans by thursday. am i mad that doesnt happen now ? no, i have so many beans to choose from because of glg that i am still deciding what to pop next when the most recent order arrives.

There's no winning being a small business nowadays. Everybody thinks delivery should be amazon prime speed or that your prices should match the huge companies. Not all businesses ( especially small) can afford to "hire more people". I will spend my money with honest, hard working people everytime, even if that means it's a little more expensive (not the case with glg) or not as fast (never a concern for me, Im not rushed up to start seeds and have plenty at home to choose from)

What?! You mean not all small businesses are startups hoping to sell out to a larger company for a boatload of cash? Are you saying some small businesses are content to stay in their lane and remain small to keep overhead low (and by extension, prices too)--and there are customers who will remain loyal even if it means their orders may take a bit longer? :blsmoke:

I don't even want to think about the crazy routes he has to take coming home from his p.o. box.........

There is a lot of added complexity to this biz. It's not like your local retail store.

GLG is not the fastest seedbank out there. JBC is like lightning but not as great of freebie selection nor as many freebies as GLG and GLG has more variety in general. Nor as may BOGO promos for Bodhi.

I have gotten everything I ordered from both seedbanks and use both, taking best advantage for my convenience.

Yes, well said :)
As much as I'd like to say I stay out of big box stores, it's just not feasible in today's world. Even in the small community I live in, a family run grocery store to buy diapers, or a family run clothing store to find a 3 pack of white shirts, just aint happening. And other than lumber, home depot has most contracting and a lot of houshold items cornered. I'd be lying if I said I didnt shop there.

So when I see baddawg getting some flak, whether or not its warranted ( most times I would say it's not) it's a bit of a let down. Not with baddawg, but with the complaints. This is about as family run as it can be. Like, goddamn, dude and his wife are receiving orders , stuffing envelopes, and sending packages out THEMSELVES. On top of that, baddawg comes on riu and works here as well, because promoting his business and answering questions is just that. Not like us jerk offs shooting the shit on here:p

What happened to twest is unfortunate, I get the frustration, bd had a string of bad luck and that could've rolled down to twest I'd guess. But knowing some of the details of glg (what I've learned on here being a 2 person operation) I personally have no problems ordering from them again and can easily overlook the complaints, because I understand the situation (I think) and I appreciate them as a small biz. I've also had many great, flawless transactions with glg, like many others on here.

This has nothing to do with dick riding or pandering to bd at all. But I do know that as a business, you can have 10 stellar reviews and that one negative one is what people walk away with. People reading this thread should definitely pay attention to the positive ones.:peace:

Very well said yourself. I hate to see a couple of minor problems blown up to an extent that new customers get spooked. I've posted support a couple of times myself, but I have a tough time deciding if that helps or just extends the discussion. GLG is a great place to buy seeds. That's MY message to new shoppers.

There will always be customers that no amount of good will, good service, good prices, etc. will satisfy. Coincidentally (or not), those are often the same people who look at the 100+ pages of previous discussion as too much to read.

I was with you 'til you said good service. Telling me the order has been shipped, then waiting 10 days to actually send it, is not good service. The frustrating part is, it's an easy fix. Don't send the fucking shipping notice 'til it's fucking ready to ship. I'll be a return customer once that policy is implemented.

have plans to this spring. anything special to lookout for ?
They were super easy to grow. Four females, no herms. Done in 9-10wks. Back off the nutes around week 7 or they will show in the leaves. I have only had the chance to sample one. And i tell you it surprised. Very, very good quality of smoke. A perfect daytime strain. She has more of a high than a stone. Makes me feel good, and has this energy building up when you just want to get up and get stuff done. Very little lethargy or burnout effect. And no mental exhaustion. Very clean effect.
Ill be keeping her a while. I will be paying attention to glg freebies.

Damn! I spoke too early and just learned this the hard way. Could be a ph issue from the recent rain and city water, but coconut water and em1 definitely pissed em both off while everyone else in the tent is ok. Chopped the one a bit early and gonna keep a close eye on the other. Still beautiful plants.

Same thing here...Not to mention I tried to contact them 3 times, and got NO response.

Then, my order was short one of the freebies that I was promised.

So between shipping way late after telling me it has been shipped, no communication, and the order not being filled correctly. How is that good service? To all who said the prices are way better...Not on what I ordered...The GLG and Katsu are the same exact prices everywhere!

And to all of you who said they will throw something extra in....they didn't, unless you want to count the stickers or pen.

And to those who blamed the post office....They were actually a day early, once it actually got to them.

Now. well see if they even grow, after being exposed to several freeze ups along the way. So far it's not looking good! I started about half the seeds yesterday. Not one has sprouted....and I sprouted 6 of my own seeds that are over 2 years old at the same time, and all six of mine sprouted.

New customers have a right to know. GLG may have been great at one time, but IDK how anyone can call this experience great!

Seeds not having germinated in 24 hours is a thing people are basing complaints off of now?

I think everyone gets it, GLG is not as fast as you would like them to be, and you're annoyed that printing of a shipping label does not mean the package is on its way and you should anticipate its arrival at any time.

That does suck about the missing freebie. All I can say is I emailed them when I realized I had seemingly forgotten to select a BOGO reward and within a day I had a new invoice that reflected they had fixed my screw up (different situation as I realized my mistake within minutes of ordering, but they were responsive).

I don't think anyone is denying there are faster options for people in a hurry. I don't personally see any reason that I wouldn't keep doing business with them, because speed-aside my experience has been 100% positive, but to each their own.
