Green Light?

I heard that if you need to do something in your grow room during lights off you can use green light without affecting the plant. Has anyone had issues doing this? Just curious as it would be nice to check temps to make sure it's not getting too cold now that it's cooler out.

i haven't used a green light but since you mentioned checking temps, wanted to mention a laser temp gun, simply point it to the precise spot you need to check whether it be floor or roof, wall or leaf. can do the whole room bit by bit from a door cracked open.

the reason growers use green light is that plants can "see" the other colors in the spectrum but not green. you can use a small amount of other colors of light without interrupting the light cycle. the rule is that you shouldn't use anything brighter than the light emitted by a full moon. a lighter or a small led or even a small flashlight not directed at the plant will also not affect the cycle either.

I go into my room everyday with green light never hurt it once. My lights come on late so the thirty minutes before lights on I can have water mixed and ready, then pour, clean plants room ect when the lights pop on.

Basically plants needs sunlight for energy, but in case of green light I must say it gives least benefits to plants.

When ever I work under my HPS and leave the room everything looks blue and purple. These are things only a stoner can only appreciate :D
They sure are! Plus it's fun to walk around seeing different colors and not have got blasted in the head to do it lol.

Plants are green and thus reflect green light. So it makes sense they don't require green spectrum for photosynthesis.

I use green led only as I want to be positive the lamp is not emitting any level of undesired frequencies.
