Greetings From The Sunshine State....

Hey all... I'm new here as of a few days ago. Just thought I'd officially say HI!!!

Generally speaking in the forums I belong to I'm not a big "thread starter".... I usually search around and read.... and tack on questions & comments in existing threads. With that said.... I should tell you that I'm a big fan of using the colored fonts and I'm known for using too many smilies.... can't help it.... I like em and they help convey tone that sometimes plain text just can't do.... I hope that doesn't piss y'all off

So far I'm really likeing this place... y'all have taught me A LOT in the few days I've been a member. To date I've only grown outdoors ..... and I wasn't very sucessful at it. (After reading here I suspect I know why.... LOL!!! Live and learn!)

Anyway... I'm a CA native transplanted to FL 3 1/2 years ago.... one thing I wasn't prepared for (aside from the hurricanes) was the FIRE ANTS! DAMMNNNNNN they are horrendous here and those little bastards DESTROY gardens! It's one thing to lose a $1.57 pack of tomato seeds... it's QUITE another to lose $100 worth of quality beans! If anything is going to kill THOSE it better be me and my stupidity... NOT some shitty-ass Fire Ants! Anyhooooooo.... I decided to give Indoor Hydroponic gardening a shot. Based on the posts of you fine people I've ordered about $700 worth of indoor gardening equip.... and I'm chomping at the bit to get going GROWING!

I'm a VERY handy gal when it comes to DIY projects (I have more tools then most men I know) so I'm only limited by my own lack of knowledge in growing. I'm looking forward to learning from you all and sharing where I can.

As for the outdoor growing... well I'm 42 and a bit old school.... I grew up with older brothers who grew outdoors. After most of them left the house... my sister's husband was the family cultivater.... he was GREAT at it (awesome 2 acre crops in the mountains).... but I was too stubborn to listen to his advice (mostly because I didn't like him) and so I had to suffer the humiliation of my failed 10 plant attempts every time I went to him for a bag. Lucky for me he'd bypass the ziplock and give me brown grocery sacks full so I didn't have to beg all that often

I continued to try outdoor growing over the years but I just killed plant after plant.... and thus continued to shell out WAY more money then I should have to buy.... and a lot of times that good money bought SHITTY smoke! I finally gave up on the growing thing.

Now with hydroponics and all the internet help I'm ready to try INDOOR growing! I have a big house all to myself and quite frankly I'm tired of buying SHIT weed and fearful of being busted trying to find a dealer who sells the bomb. This is what rekindled my interest in growing!

I just got confirmation today from HTGsupply that my order (grow tent and lights and starter kit) has been shipped.... I know it will be days before delivery ..... yet I still had my nosed pressed against the window in anticpation when I saw the UPS guy on my street today.... it's gonna be a lonnnnnnng 7-14 days..... Oh well in the meantime.... my beans are germinating and I'll start assembling my hommade Bubble system...

Is it obvious I'm excited about this new adventure????? .
