Sucks about the Blumats mate. Often this growing game is a list of hard lessons to be learnt.

onwards and upwards from here!
Everything in the blumat system has been cleaned with dish soap and hot water awaiting plants to go into the flower room. I’m ready to put this system back into full working order ASAP. I believe the problem was light getting into the reservoir over the years which allowed algae to grow and then clog up the works. The lid was on loosely; not fully sealed. Found slimy gunk all over everything including the feeder tubes.
There is just one plant among 3 currently in the bloom room ...a slow grower if you will...that I’m not sure got sexed last time. Going away for a week soon so hopefully they will sustain the plants til we get back. Re-installing the blumats tonight and Ill be jetting outta here by the weekend so if they are still alive when I get back I’ll toss up a few pics.

Ya, it's crazy how much more nutrients they need when they get tons of light.
Had issues my self when I first switched to COB leds; they will suck down more due to the increase of energy.
I also thought about that, but i've used the same soil mix outdoors under the sun and the plants didn't show these signs.

I think i went into some type of intoxication. Went a little too heavy/often with some diy inputs like Aloe FPJ, along a top dressing.

Another factor to consider is humidity. The lower the humidity the more the plant transpires. As it transpires it obviously drinks more. As it drinks more if the soil is too hot it will show excess/deficiencies as these nutrients will be drawn up into the plant.

I def believe it was something with the soil being too hot and some bad practices from me.

I set up another tent. Left the Power Plant in her 10gal pot under 400W of MH and the 180W COB is on a smaller tent with the Sour Compassion, some clones in solo cups, and some pots with soil that's being cooked.
I used the extracted hot air of the MH to heat the COB tent LOL.

Nice branching in the Sour Compassion, but i must be aware of it's stretching when the time comes.

Only small tent pictures here, will update later with Power Plant

Update. One month into flower on my second round with sips. Using mainly HPS lights this round to see if the buds get bigger compared to my strip leds. Was getting a little yellow under one from being a little close. I’ve been spraying twice weekly with epsom and armour Si. Top dressing as usual going with 4 tbls 444 and 2 tbls of flower weekly in the 10 g sips
some how got the same pic twice.C064FDB7-1A0F-420E-A9E7-0E7743EB0A08.jpegC064FDB7-1A0F-420E-A9E7-0E7743EB0A08.jpeg

Update.
Power Plant is better than before and i took some clones from it. Wish i would have 2 right now and fill the tent more quickly. Sour Compassion will soon go to a 2,5-5gal pot. Not sure what to do. Maybe put it together with the Power Plant in the same tent and use the other one for the new cuttings.

probably a dumb question, but would airstones in your rez help?. blumats have been a godsend since I've had them dialed in. I also loosely cover my rez but never had slime or any build up(yet). just a simple setup for watering .

ummm not sure, had only 1 time at the start were I had a runaway, but since then its been sweet. I have a bleed valve at the end of the tube that runs inside. every now and again I use it to water the bits, the drippers have not fully soaked.

Could be....I had a nice tight lid on it for years with no issues but it got kinda loose and I just left it. That’s why it got all slimy I think. Cleaning it out regularly, say every 6-8 months is probably just as effective.
Just got back from vacay and all is well. Plants survived happy and green. Pics coming soon...

Aww shit....done let this go to the back page where threads go to die...have not posted in awhile because there was nothing worth reporting on but as stated before the goal as always is to never run outta weed...
So in the bloom room right now we got three plants in week 4; two Sweet Skittlez by sweet seeds and one lanky ass Strelka clone. The skittlez were “monstered” but the Stella was not. Here’s what the larger skittlez pheno looks like..

Update

Power Plant getting bigger, i am tying down branches and opening it up. I'm thinking about moving it to my 2,5x2,5 tent, and use the 3x3 with the Power Plant clones that already rooted in the solo cups.
Not sure what to do about Sour Compassion and Zkittlez, since they have shown some mildew issues, that now seem to have stopped after some treatments with neem and milk water. I also improved ventilation in the small tent and sure that has helped.

Moved Power Plant to 2,5x2,5 tent.
I added a net, i took it from a municipal construction in the street. Not sure if the material is too aggressive for the plants, will stay alert.
2,5x2,5 not as tall as 3x3 tent, so will be flipping soon.

A few months ago i cleaned the roof of my house. Found what i believe is leaf mould; since the roof was covered with dry leaves and underneath them, there was some kind of dirt, with succulents and other stuff growing there.

So i screened both my EWC and the leaf mould, and use both of them, along with some bocashi product (it's like inoculated bran), after i top dressed the plant with malted barley, insect frass and gypsum. Then put dried alfalfa hey as mulch.
Also did a brew with the leaf mould and molasses.

Picture 2 is the EWC and pic 3 is the leaf mould, the sequence shows it compacted and then poked.
