Its called Lotus Breath, coming from Cactus Breath by Thug Pug and Lotus Head by Bodhi.
This one is the Fem version.

Bud pics are from Cactus Breath S1.

Never had "Skittles."

Indica or Sativa dom?

It really looks tasty. Does it smoke fruity?
Yep it’s a hybrid indica dominant strain; grapey and grape-fruity citrus flavors. Fairly potent too; good smoke but smaller size nuggets. Kind of on the stemmy side especially the lowers but I like this type of bud structure…. dense but potent nuggets. Lineage is grape ape x grapefruit.

Crappy pic here but these two bigger plants in the back hopefully turn out to be some thing very special. They are from a west coast breeder friend of a friend that we used to get bud from long ago. Never met this person but I know their work. Back in the 90s we used to get this Great White Shark strain until Jonny law shut it down. Growers moved west but people we know sent us some of their gear. This is Orange Sherbet x Jager x GWshark x GSC… orange jager shark cookies; stay tuned for more weird strains coming soon…083EA9F7-1586-499B-91D2-D71D0157AF8A.jpeg

Looking great @JHake , @Richard Drysift and @GreenestBasterd

It is getting to the end of the cool/cold weather season for the "flowering-room." The season has been extended because of unusually cool weather. Unfortunately that is about to change. A bit more work and worry but "yagottadowhatchagottado." It's almost done for the year. Got seeds and now some buds & butter. Next Grow the room should be finished.

Here is "MMS" (my medical strain), four selected clones from the seed grow, just ending week four from flip.
They are selected clones of the Blue-Line and the Yellow-line.
The Stretch is over and they grew to the light and stopped. Just about perfect height. I can't remember how many weeks they go to be done so it could be as much as eight more weeks.
They smell unique. I keep trying to decide if it smells like citrus or spice but I'm starting to say it simply smells like MMS. A complex bouquet perhaps. They like to spray oils in defense. There were times I went in and experienced eye and skin irritation and wanted to get done quickly and out of there fast when I had to "handle" and move the seed-plants around. They are mean I tell you!
MMS is a very up strain. The mother was a Greenhouse "The Doctor" feminized circa 2008 and the Father was an unnamed extreemly-up-go-power-walking Haze gifted directly to me from the breeder. "The Doctor" I used was not the Mango Pheno. Sadly that one was culled for room in the box before I understood what phenotype(s) I should have been on the lookout for. MMS does have a hint of Mango-Pheno but it's "in there" in the bouquet. This cross was made in 2010.
They emit a wonderful waft of Cherry at lights out. It's really a wonderful smell for just a minute when the ambient temperature drops. They do not smell like strong Cherry otherwise. I adore that about this strain. I don't know why / how it generates a wafting Cherry scent so if you can explain that I would appreciate the news.

you know... I never have had the privilege to let these genetics grow even close to the size they could.
I was lucky to have a sixteen square foot planter bed with direct plumbing to a grey-water tank in that twenty-foot trailer. I also had excellent carbon scrubber,

As I read there are great genetics that come from trailers. ( joke intended)

My point is that I ran a carbon filter for all four years of growing out these genetics.

I never knew in an olfactory sense, this strain.
Oh sure smoke it, cook with it but, smell it as it grew? Not a thing!
Wow I am smelling it now!

It's so so ordinary. I'm liking it to making corn tortillas from scratch. Corn tortillas that is.
Three AM and workers getting ready to work the day wake up to the women cooking the days best meal; breakfast!

I never had the chance because of paranoia over hypothetical arrest for growing because I ran a high capacity carbon filter.. I even learned the algebraic volume for any carbon filter.

Well it smells like a Native Mexican Meal.
It's not Mexican Genetics.

What can I say? Open air growing, C02 enrichment.. The smells change.
I have some colas up against the glass and they are the source of the corn tortilla smell but I'm not going to cut them. I can deal with that by making canna-butter with that stuff.
Still have a Cherry when the HPS kicks out. They may be too hot but I'll figure it out. you know "Land-Race" is just genetics that have communal genetics and have been growing in the same climate for a long time. I wish to maintain this strain so I'll see what I can do in the space I have in the time I have left.

So, uh, eh, any advice of fattening up buds is something I want to read. They are and this is the biggest grow space I have ever known.
The beauty is that I may be able to save a few thousand by not buying at the dispensary.
I'm adding Oyster Shell flour where it seems appropriate. I'm brewing a freash gallon of guinea-pig manure tea with "additives."
What helps fatten up buds?

Anyway, I am impressed.

Here is a door shot and I assume I have six weeks left this cycle for these guys.

There were Black Soldier Flies in the compost and I believe they have hatched out. I don't see them as much.
Adult BSF do not have mouth parts and do not damage but as larvae they eat!
BSF might be damaging if they are eating plant roots as larvae. That is my only fear with BSF in the soil mix.

I have a feeling this is about four jars. That should help provide until it is cold enough again to run the room. That's the idea. Generate heat, light and produce when it is cold. All good! Warmth, Produce and combat seasonal depression.

I do have to get serious on finishing the room this summer so it's a wonderful room. This is just "ad hoc."
Live now and die later!

Happy Daze!

Besides getting more intense lighting there are a few other things that I do to increase bud mass that maybe you could try. First I think if you trim the bottoms a bit more (and take lots more clones to boot) just before flipping you might see slightly bigger colas up top.
2nd Try dropping to a 15/9 light cycle a few weeks before going to bloom phase; then go to 14/8 the next week. Then you can just flip to 12/12 as normal for the duration.. doing this to sex out plants from seed starting around week 7 or going further by revegging usually gives even more definitive results…Light manipulation puts them into preflowering mode which helps promote tight nodal growth which usually equates to bushy ass colas yielding golf ball size nuggets later on. Try it next run

All the fans have now shriveled due to lack of water; pulled out the blumats many days ago. I also just realized these are not zskittlesz clones; found the tag in the pot says Coma Cluster by KOS so I fucked up labeling my shit again. These last two plants were even labeled but the tag fell through the dirt . Either way looks/smells like bomb ass weed..time to get trimming peace

It can only get better or should I say make butter?

It's all good man!
Thanks for your wisdom!

Wow well you can hear a pin drop in here. Its all fun and games until someone ends up in the pokey. Maybe it’s time for a reset. Time to flush this thread down the proverbial toilet like a bad case of mudbutt….but
Hey we had a great run. Thread came out the gate strong in January 2021; I’d like to personally thank all who contributed to this thread. I invite you to join me for the next iteration of Dick’s grow-a-long; this time with new rules.
