Grow Box design

I am currently designing a grow box. The box is about 35 inches tall about a foot and a half wide. i am lining the inside with tenfoil as well as the top of the box... i was wondering if there should be any on the bottom. I also just purchased some great value CFL (soft white) and was wondering if these were ok for growing.

Don't Use TenFoil, its the worst reflector out there. if you wanna go cheap try using a fire blanket, or the mylar (shiny) wrapping paper, or sun reflector's for a car. When it comes to CFL's make sure there DAYLIGHT CFL's 6500K for vegging..

Yeah definitely stay away from the tinfoil as the wrinkles create hotspots which could burn your plants. Not as much if you had an HPS or MH light in there, but it could still pose a problem. Just spray paint the inside matte white which scatters light in all directions instead of directing it in one angle away from the reflective surface like tinfoil. And NCkush is right about the DAYLIGHT CFL bulbs for veg. If you are growing autoflowering varieties you can mix in a daylight among your soft white bulbs for a little bit of another spectrum to help it grow since the dont really have much of a veg cycle. But in general for growing regular weed use daylight for veg and soft white for flower. Also doing a gradual switch from daylight to soft white when its time to go into flower works as well if you have at least 3-4 bulbs. Its a little more natural as in mornings and evenings the light from the sun is more red and during the later part of the growing season there is more of the red spectrum that is given to the plants along with the reduced amount of time, while in middle summer during the veg cycle it gets more of the blue spectrum and longer days.
