Grow Cabinet.. Looking for Ideas!

I have trimmed alll the leaves except for a select few on the top canopy. And I transplanted it into a smaller pot. With a better soil mix. I used transplanter solution to reduce the shock of transplanting.. This has given me about 4 more inches to work with, and allowed me to add the Metal Halide light in the box. So it's getting much more light now. Hopefully she doesn't die on me!

thanks man. I was told it's a strain called "Great White Shark".. IT's skunky as hell and it sprouts buds all over, at every node.. It had small branches going all the way up the stem which i trimmed off to allow more nutrients to get to the main buds.. Unfortunately she's taking it pretty hard. All the hairs on the buds have shriveled up, and the buds seem dry, I'm assuming this is because they are half dying and half not getting enough water because the roots are in shock. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope she bounces back in the next week or so.. :/

But i watered it with molasses and nutes, and today i noticed there seems to be a light carpet of fuzz on the top of the soil.. looks like mold to me. Is that normal? or really bad? what should i do about it?...

Yes I had a similar box rigged up, I had two large boxes, one fit over the other, so i could raise and lower the top of it via pulley system.
It worked nice, but was very obvious and being made out of cardboard, i was hesitant to use higher powered lights such as HPS and MH.
That box grew this plant up to this point.. We'll see how she likes the new lights, hopefully all these white hairs will turn red soon

Yes. The Computer fans run on DC power. So you can't simply wire them to a power cord. There's two methods you can use to power them. You can use an old 12volt power adaptor from some other electronics device and connect the wires, and voila, you got an instant wall powered pc fan. OR you can bridge a power supply to run outside a computer (very easy to do with a paperclip), and plug the fans into the power supply. I use the power supply method because i couldn't find any old 12 volt dc adapters around the house, but i did have an old power supply. Besides, a cheap 250watt power supply is only $13 online. That's cheaper than i could have bought 4 12volt dc adapters for..

ANY FORM OF MOLD is a bad thing. The organisms will get down into the soil/media and roots really fast and do bad things. I never do any form of a change in conjunction with pruning. Even if a plant is huge and full of a lot of "extra" leaves, it'll get a shock result from any major change (even minor ones too) due to things like: extreme temp. swings, over/under watering, nutes, pruning/topping (very major), and sometimes LST-ing if not done correctly. Depending on the strain growing and possibly as a result of the above, Hermies can "pop-up" literally, overnight (my stomach always drops and then I get pissed). Some strains can take shock and some are such little temperamental babies that they turn without a moments notice. Unless you've grown the same thing over and over, you won't know how far you can push the envelope. I simply do one "change" at a time and only on 1-2 plants until I know what to expect. Once I've grown a plant out, I also have a better idea of how she, the clone(s), is going to grow, stretch, expand normally and what to expect from pruning what & where, nute additives, flushing, watering & moisture, CO2 benefits v. costs, and etc., etc., etc.. Patience and growing should be synonymous when in discussion. Patience is something I don't have but am being forced to become more patient the more I cultivate my craft...

Gut everything out of them leaving the quick release plug to wire to the lamp, move the fan to the outside w/ separate 12v PS and they work great for mounting smaller watt ballasts in!

It was what I suspected. But doesn´t a 250w power supply comsume rather 4 small 12v adapters? And yes, mold is bad... Always

I'm not sure.. It is a 250 watt power supply, but that doesn't mean it draws 250watts all the time. It should only draw power for what I'm using (the 4 fans). So it shouldn't be costing me any more money than using 4 adapters. The same amount of energy is still being consumed by the fans. The PS simply has the CAPACITY to push 250 watts, If things are connected. But without completing the circuit (connecting a device) it shouldn't be using any more power.

Or am I mistaken?... I'm not a pro at this stuff...

OH! btw, Here's some updated pics.. As you guys can see, my plant is really hurting.. any suggestions as to how i might rejuvenate her? I transplanted her last week, might have used too much transplant solution (for reducing shock).. What do you guys think?

Hi again, nice to see your work The 250W means that its what it will consume if all cables (outputs) are conected (maximum consume). I think if the PS doesn´t have nothing pluged it will consume but in a very low level (I belive less then 1W), because of the main coils and the internal circuit board. 1W its nothing Its a good ideia that you had, for more then two fans.
