grow questions....

I posted an earlier question, but now, i just tried something different. I just had my seed crack and the tap root showed this morning, i put it in soil and watered a lil to make it damp, i also put a lil plastic wrap over it to keep in moisture, I have a 400 watt hps light, but i decided to put 4- 23 watt cfl's around the seedling so as to give it warmth until it breaks the surface, instead of putting the hps on it, would that be o.k.?. and then after it breaks i was going to be using the 400 watt hps for the rest of grow. would it be beneficial to use the cfl's in the beginning until it breaks surface.?. and would it also be beneficial to use the cfl's as well as the 400 w hps during the entire grow.?. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.. thanks.!!!!....

you don't need to tent in a seedling.. they have a root already and can transpire normally as they come up.. unlike a clone which takes it's water through it's leaves so you want to ensure a high humidity environment for that purpose.

Yes you actually should use lower wattage lights for seedlings- so good idea on the CFL's. You can (and will likely find more benefit) using the HPS for veg if you plan on doing that. Just try and avoid the HPS on seedlings, they are still pretty tender.
