Grow Room 400W Help

Hi there, im new here first of all hi all :)

My question is , i set up grow room inside a cabinet like 0,75m x 1,5m x 1,5m. I'll grow like 3-4 plant in it. I set up my ballast and hps with electrician. I started it yesterday night and got some smell but i heard it it happens at first start and after 1 hour its gone. But i worked it like 3-4 hours and then check it again the heat inside the cabinet like between 25-28C and got any problem. I just worrying about the burn and flame.

Im using ;

Panda film inside the cabinet
400W hps
ballast
reflector

but no fan in it but got some air holes like total 30-40cm on both sides.

So will i get some problems with that setup? like burns or flame? or should i change my hps to 250w or 100w?

0.75m height or width? a400 is not even enough to light the whole cabinet, BUT you absolutely need an exhaust fan, you can't grow shit without it, as you will cook your plants. the cfm of the fan must change the air in the cab 2-3x per minute. you can light up about 8 squared feet when flowering, that is 0.8mx0.9m. dont make the mistake of trying to light more with that light, as it will result in smaller fluffy buds

yeah im working on some exhausts and temp is really hot and i stopped it. and trying to decrease watt like im gonna buy 100w or 250w and i hope its gonna be fine with 100w cause i just gonna grow like 2-3 plants in that small area.

and i'll work with like that;

like i said i got small area to grow and gonna buy 100w hps.
got some exhaust fans like 3x12mm fan in that cabinet.

and i think temp will be decrease after 400w to 100w hps.

any idea? :)

Get yourself some aluminum duct and an intake fan aswell as an exhaust fan.. thats your problem.. you have a strong light in a small space with no air movement

Set it up so your intake fan sucks in fresh air from the bottom of the cabinet.. and the exhaust fan at the top next to or close to the light sucking the heat out of the room.. make sure u do this!

make sure your light and reflector isnt touching anything to make it burn also.

if you can afford about $150.. get a grow tent! they come with the holes for the intake fan.. are good for growing plants aswell and designed for it!.. you can get one in sizes like yours or bigger or wider however you want.. they have heaps of grow tents on ebay also.

instead of buying another set of lighting kit get a grow tent!!! you will not regret it !!! i promise you. you will come back thanking me.. get a good grow tent. and u can use your 400watt because anything weaker is crap and wont produce good yeild if your trying to make the most of what you have.. get a tent. even youtube them.. search 'grow room' or 'grow tent'..

Once you got your tent hang the light up.. put a intake and exhaust fan setup.. and if you can get another fan to blow over the plants to keep em cool and you will be laughing with a small setup.

theres heaps of brands but the best ones are JARDIN TENTS.


IFF.. you want to keep your cabinet.. just get a 'COOL TUBE' for your 400WATT light.. it will keep your light cool enough to touch!

the 400w itself is too small for your area let alone a 100w. you say "in that small area" well it's not small, that area requires 600 or 1000w to flower it, but you still have to tell us what is the height???? and don't put intake and exhaust fans, instead, if you have 2 fans, place both as exhaust, you will be venting much better than if you had an intake fan. this place is helpless, too much bad advice around that if i try to help, it's like a drop in the ocean of bullshit! go ahead and grow as they advise you, and in a year or 2 you will actually succeed in being self sufficient smoker LOL
