Grow room help

I've got a 17.25 sq ft space (2.5ftW x 6.9ft L). I set up a 1000w hps and a 250w hps with 2 exhaust fans and a squirrel bringing in fresh air. Is this to much wattage per sq foot? I've read between 50-100 watts per sq ft if using HID.
I plan to grow 4 under the 1k and 4 autos under the 250k. Am I going to just be over crowding this room?
Would anyone suggest cutting down to just the 1k?
I've got nothing growing under this setup yet until I get my conditions right:mrgreen:appreciate any feedback.

cooling is the biggest problem here?before you plant lets turn on the light in there and show us the room temp...
yesterday I did a test run all day to test the temps. It's hot where I'm at, real hot. Also really fuckin humid. It was 92F 68% humidity in my house! Fucked. Hopefully thatll lessen in the next month or so. And I will definitely not be planting anything in a hot and sweaty room.

After the tests my room was at about 95. Not what I want, but I do think its because my house is a fuckin hot box right now. I've got a little AC unit, but it doesn't do justice. It's a brick house with poor insulation so that may help bring the temps down during the fall/winter months.

looks like you will need a hole in the ceiling of your closet(do you have an attic above this closet?)and can you add a window a/c unit to the bedroom?if so than cool the bedroom and suck the cool air out of the room by sucking the air up and out the closet.
you can find used a/c units on craigslist for about 150.00.

So I do have the AC in the bedroom and the squirrel is bringing the cool air into the grow room from there. And there are 2 exhausts sucking the hot air out. One is pulling from the lights and out of the grow room. The other is just a supplements exhaust at the top of the grow room pulling hot air out. Here's a pic

Also I'm doing another test now. It's 72 today and not humid. It's been an awful summer

someone feels my pain. After testing today my temps are at about 83-85 which I'm much happier with. I still think they could come down once winter shows up. And I'm west of you Greenhouse!

It's been hot in NV this year too. I got two outside that'll see 100F + today but one is an auto cheese and the other is a indica berry. My humidity is under 10% out here in the desert so it's harder to grow sativas in low humidity (so I'm told). Most grows are indoors but it's fun to experiment outside when I can. I see you have a Max Fan, it will move a lot of air so when your temps come down you'll do fine.

I'm worrying less. Thanks bro.

My father had an AC company {ACCO air conditioning} come out to my house for me and had them install a 5 ton & a 3 ton unit.the three ton unit does a fine job cooling 4 bedrooms and the Grow room.If you keep the thermostat set at 70 and allow for proper air movement the temperature in your grow room shouldn't exceed 5* more that the outer room temperature. If you do 4 or 5 runs a year and avoid July and august most likely with the correct ventilation an AC unit wouldn't be necessary. The veg bulb i use is half the wattage and doesn't need the AC back up to keep the heat down, veg in the summer & flower in the fall.
