How many grows have you had? You can do this with this light, you can do that with this. Just grow...you will find out all the things you didn't know once you have done it..three or four times

I have been growing for 15 years and I still can't get it right, but you keep getting it better

I'm one of them guys I have to research shit to the hilt and ask every question I can before I attempt it

Ive been growing about the same amount of time and I still make mistakes... not because I don't learn or know but because I always experiment and push the boundaries
You have to know the rules before you can break the rules imo

For the OP,
I dont beleive you can really go overkill with ventilation. You can have possibly too much in terms of efficiency, but unless you can match the airflow of the outdoors... then the more the better. Tradeoff being power/sound or space

It's great that you research the life out of everything, even though sometimes you are sure that you know precisely what you are going to do only to read just one more thread or see one more photo that changes everything... it's normal ^^ lol

You just need good simple advice and then just start growing... you will learn more from growing yourself than any forum.
Read, but try to work things out for yourself instead of asking every question and having it validated, you will feel even accomplished
Once you begin to learn how 'his' grow is different to 'your' grow, you will understand why forum advice is just a guideline

Like I said, just find a nice simple way to grow, learn from your experiences, then try new and better methods and see if they work for you... that is the fun of growing, you can do it forever

Simple. Thats why I turned you on to soilless and away from hydro. Esp in such a small area.


There is nothing wrong with reading and learning, but it doesn't replace good old experience.

You can always ask me whatever you want. Questions are good. It's tough your first few times. You tend to second guess every detail. (which can be good) Preparation and knowledge are a good thing.

But what works for one doesn't always work for another. It applies in dramatic fashion in the cultivation world.

Hidden door is done, finishing drywall and paint this weekend. Light, fan and air pots are in. Beans came..........IN 4 DAYS!!!!! I just need to order up my little things, nutes, ph meter ect. Ill post up some pics this weekend.

With my limited height of roughly 5' should I just mount my cool tube fixed? I read HPS/MH should be between 2 and 4 feet away.

Not sure what I should use for nutrients yet with the promix. Im looking at the GH Flora series right now. Might pick up the starter kit for $40.

There is a pair for $ 5.00. You wanna be able to move your light. Some strains love it when the light is just inches away. Some don't.


Your getting close. Can't wait till you get this thing rolling! If you want a good read, check out the mainlining thread in the grow journals. I'm gonna do a side by side journal vs topping. I really like the mainlining technique and imagine it will out do the lst/topping/super cropping technique. Food for thought.

There are plenty of good nutrients and ways. Everyone will have a strong opinion on this and that. A good grower can grow multiple ways. Hydro , organic , synthetically. I have grown every way damn near possible lol.



I will get flamed for saying this. For synthetics I absolutely love the advanced nutrients sensi grow/bloom ph perfect.


All I use is the grow for veg , 26 $ for a liter set. Super easy. Look at my journal for proof. Amazing results. Super concentrated.

If you look into what they have for their npk in just their bloom base and grow nutes nutes. They have a lot to offer. They use a lower phosphate , higher k , and higher n in their bloom which I love. Plus they add amino acids , fulvic and humic. Wetting agent.

The proof is in the flavor at the end.

Lower p equals better flavor. That's their sell. I have seen good results from this way of thinking. Using a higher k to get the size. A good grower can adjust himself. I like the ease of use and not having to. Plus all the calcium and mag is already in the base!

So that saves another 20$ just not having to buy that.


Use with Rodi water. You don't have to worry about ph. Ever. Only have to use quarter strength max!
I feed every time. I can help you with levels and feeding schedule. It's so easy and perfectly geared for mj.

Look in my journal and watch. I have four new ones three weeks in flower. All advanced grow. Then 1 bubba kush pre 98 , all advanced. Then an organic super soil I made being used on the Pineapple Express. I still feed synthetic nutes as well to them.

sensi bloom. Sensi grow. Big bud. Over drive. Whole grow. That's about the least amount of bottles you would typically use if not less then most.

So this is how my room sits as of this morning. Worked all night and got the drywall and painting done in here and a closet on the opposite side. Im trying to decide if i want to just leave it white or go ahead and attatch my reflective bubble insulation. As small as my room is and with a 400watt MH/HPS i really dont see the benefit to adding it. Hate to use spray glue or staples on my nice drywall i guess. Door will be done today and am going to finish wiring. Gonna have 4 110v outlets and a 220v. So really the only major hurdle I have left is fishing 6" pipe up a chimney and..........growing.

Got shit done today! It didnt take long for my little space to get really crowded. Still need to get a scrubber so the intake is just hanging. Im thinking about building a little cloning chamber where the fan sits now and just put the fan and filter on top of it. Make like a little drop front door to load it. Wish I had 2 more feet of height to work with then id be happy but i made my bed and have to sleep in this one.
