Grow Room Setup Question

Here is what is being used.

600w HPS lamp and ballast

Waterfarm 8-Pot irrigation system.

The room is 8 x 10, also, the room is carpeted (is this a problem?)

Also, this is a basement bedroom so I was wondering if there would be an issue with the lighting since there will be alot of empty space in the room?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

carpet? you can get yourself some panda film, they are 10x100 for a whole roll so you can buy a cut off like a 10x10 or something to cover your carpet, then you got your walls also. GL!

yeah get some poly plastic "panda plastic." very reflective, easy to clean, protects your surfaces. def a must. i have it in my grow room and it is worth every square foot. u can use it to pretty much section off a room out of a room. just a little inginuity and a staple gun and u can build walls with it really easy

So you're saying I would have to concentrate the space ?? I wouldn't get good results using the whole 10 x 8 for only 8 plants??

I wanted to use the whole 10 x 8 obviosuly because there would be less need for intricate ventilation...

yes 600 is good for 7x7, but when i said get yourself some poly thats because the poly can but cut to the dimension of your flooring, then you can place it down there to keep things clean because we all know we don't want any nasty water on the carpet.

Thanks alot guys.. One more question... Since its a basement... Is there more of a worry of mold?..

I can just get a humidity gauge and dehumid if I need?

You need to monitor the humidity level at the very least. If you have had a moisture problem in the basement you will still have it. If you haven't this ( 8 Plants) won't cause a problem. For your question about the light, You wouldn't have to have walls around it. If you could some panda plastic around the area your plants are in to refelct light back onto the plants instead of just lighting up the whole room you will get better results. VV

Here's my growroom in the basement, when it was 90% done. I don't have a humidity checker, i just put a tub of water in there, i water the plants with dehumidifier water (time will tell, it's only been 1.5 weeks since they got roots.
PS i put the box for the light outside the room, cause it gets hot in there.
