im not a pro light specialist but for autoflowers its not too important, because for veg = 6500k, flower = 2700k, as auto's dont realy have veg, i suggest you to keep 2700's and 6500's too. correct me if i'm wrong. im still not so experienced and learning all the cool shit from here :bigjoint:

@maartards, I can jive with that. It makes sense to have a good mix of both ends of the spectrum. With auto's I believe you still want the normal ratio. More 6500k before flowers start and then after pre flowers show, more 2700k since that is the best spectrum to promote nice flowers.

Yep hey that was my theory too. Since no veg = no veg nutes. But they're really small and as suggestions have been coming in left and right, I think the middle path will be best as far as the lighting goes. I'll be starting another seed in a few days to keep my 10 days apart schedule, part of the reason I did that was so I could change up my strategy as I learned along the way. So that each progressive step is better than the last.

Yeap I'm going with the mixed lights for now. This is all an experiment anyway. I'll update tomorrow or Tuesday if we see any difference.

Man don't feed it, FFOF is harsh! Shouldn't need nutes for a few weeks.
I think...
Your problem might be heat? Put the cfls 2-3 inches away and get some pc fans.
But don't give it anymore nutes. Good luck, and hope she doesn't find out :D

Thanks dc4, I am vigilant with the temps, I have the AC running at a steady 78 degrees F. I gave it one feeding of nutes so far and waiting for a reaction from the plant.

Using FFOF, but the plants are growing so slowly, I decided to give it a jumpstart of nutes Saturday. Quick update: the plants are looking perky today and the browning of the leaves is almost restored to full green. Crazy turnaround. Not much noticeable growth per say, but I will update with photos tonight or tomorrow.

Nice! See, they just needed some food. Ironic how people say that FFOF will burn seedlings...and yet we both have deficient plants lol. I am using a FFOF x happy frog mix by the way. I guess it is good for the first weeks for some strains, then you need to add nutes...then there are other strains that it burns them from the get go.

It is very interesting. I definitely had a deficiency, and I'm beginning to learn that no two grows are the same. What works for one may not work for another. I chalk it up to the fact that there are SO many variables to growing, and every detail affects some factor. Where one may find FFOF burns his seedlings, another needs to add nutes, and so forth! Pretty cool though, experimenting with different setups and approaches, and of course when something goes right, it's quite gratifying. :-o

Quick photo updateSR1 is 19 days old - btw I count age from 1st true leaf. Looks like it stretched laterally from all points in the past 48 hours. No noticeable vertical growth. Color same, except browned leafs now only at the tips... where the mid-color is, that was all brown on Saturday am. Compare to photo on page 4. Bitchin recovery. This feeding seems to have jolted it to life. It re-greened a bit. Pretty cool. Thanks to everyone for the advice and ideas.

As for SR3, this thing has doubled in size from 2 days ago. Check the prior picture also on page 4. Pretty easy to see. Still behind though and we'll see how it catches up. You can compare to SR1 at 9 or 10 days old, which should be on page 1 or 2.
