I was looking at some of the pics through out the thread and a buncha people had airflow going through the light then to the exhaust. It doesn't seem like you can do that with this light. Is it not a big deal because of the 400 watts?

Thats because they have a air cooled reflector which you have the option to add...For around 50-90 more dollars you can get a cooltube or some kind of air cooled reflector..

Gotchya. So I could pretty much just buy a 400w ballast, 2 bulbs and the cooltube if I wanted to? Cooltube just replaces the reflector that comes with the $119 hps we were talking about earlier?

yes but they will give you that reflector also.They will send you the cooltube and the reg reflector.also if you plan on using htg call them up you probably can get some free stuff or a discount..

I got my from Amazon, made by Best choice products. It looks like it'll do the trick but I'm worried it will need some modding. I'm hopping the support bars are really sturdy.

i got the "htg supply original" tent. 40x40x70. not as great as i thought it was gonna be. within the first 2 weeks the zipper busted off and i had to re-sew it back on then about once a week the freakin zipper zips off and i have to put it back together. but other than that mine's pretty good. some light seeps out the zipper between the teeth but the supports are pretty sturdy, its obvious to anyone older than 4 what it as at first glance, but it works great! next tent i order is going to be the secret jardin. putting a 600 cooltube in it. hope its better constructed.

my ladie are going on to day 14 now of vegging............how long should I veg for before I start the 12/12 cycle for blooming???..............Outdoors i didn't have to worry bout the lights and what not.............

Indoor is more complicated than I thought..................

depending on your space you have..Say if you plants are 1 foot foot and a half and you have 5 feet in there flower now because plants will double sometimes triple in size.

they're about 3-4" tall now........i have 6 and a half feet from top to bottom and 4 and a half side by side and front to back.........

I wantd to try the scrog method but dunno if i can with 10 plants in that space but if i can't ima start lst-ing pretty soon.

Hey guys, how many of you start out vegging with MH from the day they pop out? Alot people seem to be using floros for the first 2 weeks or so. I have a bunch of 5000k cfls from my last grow, but It would be a bitch to get those all wired and hung up in my new tent. Thats why I switched to HID, so I didnt have to fuck with those, and better bigger buds. What are your experiences out there with just vegging with the MH and no floros?

I vegged my babies when they popped with my 400 mh conversion bulb then weeks later switched to hps to stretch a bit then flowered them..

Also, what are all of your thoughts on light proof pasive intakes, what do you guys do? Mine is a Secret Jardin, so I have velcrow flaps with mesh, but this is not light proof. I have also tried running duct from the bottom ports out and around, but the temps go up.

Sorry guys one more question, I grow in FFOF, When I water I get drainage really quickly, on my last grow I would take my plants out of the closet to water in a large flat plastic container, after watering just about 2 liters per 3 gallon pot, I would then allow the plants to "soak" in the drainage foe about 5-10 minutes a piece, then take them out of the water, and tip them to get the rest of the water out of the bottom and put em back in the room. Now I did this, and had great success, but am wondering now if I got lucky not shocking them or stressing them every time I took them out to water. Do you guys use little trays to catch the water inside the tent, or what do you guys do that grow in soil in a tent as far as your watering regimen go?

while youre answering that answer me this. im starting week 2 and have yet to have any run off, this isnt good is it, i dealt with an overwatering issue last week and let them dry out before watering but still, after almost a 2 liter per 3 gal bag no runoff, what gives?

I water til it run off and leave it alone..I dont put nothing down to catch it or anything some may not agree with this but im doing fine..
