grow tent/kit vs building your own...disadvantages vs advantages

hi roll it up community!! i am just wondering about this subject as everywan seems to have there own views and opions and everywans vary's greatly on this subject. i am dieng to set up my own grow room but i just dont no where to start.

i have been hearing off people that i could start up a good set up easily and cheaply but then other people say invest a good bit of muney in a tent and a proper kit , i have been looking up these 'kits' on the internet and they cost a small fortune.
anybody who has bought a tent and went that road or built there own master grow room from scratch feel free to comment etc and leave pics of ur set up!!

If you plan on moving a lot (new house every year, etc) then just buy a tent.

If you have a permanent place where youll be able to do a few grows, build your own room.
building your own allows you to customize things. and you can make it out of wood so you dont have to worry about holes and light leats

i have gone down both roads. both work great as long as you dial them in. I found no matter what with tents i had to open them up when lights came on and park a osc fan infront of them. never piped in ac air though either. no matter what you need the stuff that comes with those tent kits (never bought a complete cause of $$ and i often had the "guts") ie fans, light equip, etc. So really it comes down to how handy you are. depending on if you have the room to rock a whole room or just a portion. you can always build a box out of abs and panda paper but they will be flimsier and still cost a few bucks. you can also section off part of a room with wood and dry wall. in my perfect set up i build a room but boxes work too. wish you were close I have a few 5x5s collecting dust. good luck

I have never used a tent but from the looks of them I would buy one of those. I just finished building a tent like room and what a pain in the ass that was. Making the door was a pain, wraping the box in panda film was a pain, using 2by3 wood is still pretty flimsy and the 3.5 inch screws still did not make it that sturdy. Making the floor out of panda sucked. Im using a raptor reflector and most grow tents dont allow the room for that reflector plus the 8in hoses coming off of it. From the cost of my home built tent I could have almost bought one with real nice zippers and see through windows and a nice removable/cleanable floor. Dont waste your time and money

thanks for the replys ...i tink im going to go down the home built set up preferbly i would have about $1000 altogether to get me started as im going to start buliding it slowly and adding pieces bit by bit and hopefully all going well i will have a grow operation up and runing early next year!!! im going to corner off a section of my room build a frame etc i have a cousin who is an expierenced electrician to help me set up lights etc im just pieceing some ideas together and weighing out my options. i tryed growing before in shitty location nd got plants started but did not have lights or anyting so i had to give them away!!! this time around i am setting myself up right nd making a good attempt at it!!!

with 1000$ or euro as it is here...any ideas???
