Grow too long?

So I see all these posts of people wondering if their plant is ready to be harvested, but I was wondering what would happen if you let the plant grow too long? Negative things? I mean just seems everyone is too anxious to harvest, its been 5 +- months of growing what if u said f it and let it grow another month or two regardless of how the flowers are looking?

One of the things i worry about is letting it go too long (probably wont happen tho since I'm anxious as fuck lol) because the thc starts degrading and you lose potency... the dark amber trichs you would get are a sure sign the thc degraded into cbn (couchlock high)....

How long is too long varies by strain obviously

I don't know that I've ever smoked nug and said to myself that that shit was grown too long, on the other hand have had plenty of homegrown that was too early..

maybe a week or 2 over if you are trying to harvest some female polen ,for fem seeds
other then that why degrade good thc like that ...

very funny sacboy.. I ment (if you think about it and know the prosses)that the polen in the sac made by leaveing a budding female go past prime will create female seeds when a female plant is polenated with this.. google it sacboy!

The main objective for cannabis plants and all living creatures is surviving long enough to make offspring so that there will be a future for their species.
From the moment a plant is born this is it's main objective, they will do anything to survive until they are mature enough to mate, cannabis in particular
is one species that takes this to another extreme by self pollinating if it has to,the main objective for a male plant is to pollinate as many females possible
before it finally takes a dive towards death, and the females' objective is to make seeds and buds to protect those seeds from animals, insects and most
importantly the snow. Most people only smoke buds and no how to get them but don't know the anatomy or even the reason the plant does this, these buds
are what keep fresh seeds from trying to sprout through out the winter months so by the time spring comes those buds decompose and the seeds will began
to germinate and a new year of off spring arrives and this cycle continues every year. Then human influences happen, such as people trying to grow a sensi
crop which ends up with little to no seeds, female plants don't necessarily like this because of their main objective,so she will end up herming to pollinate
herself if she feels she is going to die and has not been pollinated yet,so that means the longer she lives the more times she tries to reproduce.besides
looking at thc degradation look at it from the plants perspective, she only gives us these buds we like so much because its protection for her and her young
and chemicals such as thc and cbd acts as a very good deterrent for bugs and animals.Even the animals we eat have their own set of weapons, its simply the
nature of survival.

alright alright where to begin... meant* process* pollen* sack* leaving* pollinate* ok now that you know how to spell everything correctly what pollen in what sack are you talking about? there is no such thing as pollen that is made by a females because of letting it go too long. the only pollen that "females" produce is from herm flowers, and i guess that makes the plant no longer a female but a herm. if you think thats how they make fem seeds maybe you're the one who needs to google something.

Well I'd have to slightly disagree it still will be female, even some species of marine animals that are males can deliver off spring and some can also turn from female to male
and vice-verse it's just the anatomy of some species to behave this way,it's a reason stressed females herm in the first place, take the herm i have for example,i treated
her pretty rough and she has went through a lot so see eventually started to make a few male branches instead of herming in all parts of the plant.I ended up lollipopping
the plant in question since the lower half was affected and even weeks later she has not shown or produced any more male parts and she has pretty thick buds, but i will
assume closer to harvest she will try again if she has the space to do so.

I found out that breeder times are usually based off a plant grown in optimal conditions, so if your growing with 1000 watts per square foot while maintaining temps and humidity air circulation with best set of nutes then your plant will be done in 8-9 weeks otherwise you should be harvesting at least 10-11 weeks you should let like 30% triches turn amber not dark amber and when you see pistils starting to recede into the bud it is time to harvest otherwise its to early and you will mostly get a head high.. The real medicinal weed will give you a body buzz and a nice head high

my opinion is once u get a dick ur no longer a female even if u still have a pussy. to me they are herms so i would disagree wit ur state sbw but thats only because our definition of a female is diff. lots of people still consider them females thats y people say females can pollinate other females.

It's not unusual for a female plant to produce the occasional nanner. It's a sign of ripeness. It does not make it a herm. It's an adaptive trait and entirely normal.

lol didnt know it was a spelling bee ..you ..win !!! lol...But a female can make pollen , and the "nanner" bannana pod grow's at a stage past bud prime ...
And yes breaders have used this PROCESS to make fem seeds and people still do ..lol...oy vey...(hope i spelled it right ..lol.)
