Growing Closet

Hi Guys, I want to construct my own grow closet but have no idea how to begin or what I need. All I want to grow is 2-3 plants just to try it out. Can you guys possibly give me any advice on how to do it as cost effective as possible? Much Appreciated.

I started off the same way about a year ago. I bought a cheap 400w MH/HPS kit off of ebay for about $200. Actually it was a little less than $200. It came with a cooltube hood, dimmable digital ballast, MH bulb, HPS bulb, 2 hangers, and a timer. All I had to get then was dirt, pots, and seeds to grow with. I had a floor fan to point at the light while it is on to help with the heat some. Although I did have some heat issues earlier this summer, but I got through it alright. That is pretty much it man. I hope this helps some.
