growing in a mobile home?

Anyone have any experience with growing in a mobile home? Looking at a 2 bed and 2 bath possible to run 2000 watt hps flower them maybe 600 veg? Just seeing what u guys think. Would power be suspicious

I think you will be ok but i would wait for some 1 else to reply kuz im not for sure but i would do it if it was me I have a music studio that runs moor power then that that is used all the time all day every day and i never have had any knocks at my door im also running a small grow

You will also run what, another 1000 watts in support equipment? If you are living there, that in combination may be a lot of leccy use for a mobile home.

Still it shouldnt matter if you pay your bills.

Never did it myself, but I've seen lots of episodes of Trailer Park Boys.

yea i think he will be fine 4 sure i live in a 2 bed room house not much bigger then a small mobile home

I know my buddy has a camper hooked up to its one supply of power and runs moor power then that and he never has been busted and been at it for 6 years now, I told him he was stupid as fuck but he can grow better weed them me so he must not be to stupid.. but i be damn if i would do that shit

I live in a mobile home running probably 2000w for all my equipment and have no issues. The electric is setup no differant than any other 1100sqft home. 2 or 3 thousand watts sounds like alot but it isnt much differant than running some space heaters or air conditioners.

I would be more worried about smell. In a trailer park they pack those homes in tight.

Dude, 25 years ago I lived in a trailer park. The whole park partied every weekend out in the street drinking beer, smokin and yapping. There was a titty club down the street and I worked second shift. The titty girls that worked in te day used to get me to drive them to work. Keg parties. Good times man.

I think the trailer will be fine. I would listen to @Gary Goodson tho. He sounds like the voice of experience. Perhaps getting an acre or two of your own land is a good idea? I dunno.

I think odor control should be your top concern.

Make sure the trailer can handle that much power. Unless you plan to rewire

Each 1000 watt light will use about 30.00 mo. ea. I would guess about 75.00 total. So not bad.
But like they said SMELL. If people party in the street and crap, thats not good. If cope come to break them up and get a whiff of your trailer then its all bad.

OP; Check to see if there is a second breaker box on the power pole under or around the power meter which would be used for central a/c. If there is no central air, you can run that power under the home to a 240v panel you set up in the grow room. The central air hookup is typically 30amp. This way you are not playing with the nasty circuits trailers are famous for. All of this is available at Home Depot. It would cost you less than $200 for the electrical.

Secondly, during colder weather, you can draw air in to the room from the house, then through the lights and exit that air back into your living space. I have an air tube that comes out of the grow room wall and I stuff it in the heater vent and it distributes the heat through the whole house. Epic. (Take it out when furnace it on!!!) This will obviously conserve huge amounts of energy and stop the furnace from cycling so much. When it's warm/hot out, you can draw air from under the house into the lights and exhaust that air right back underneath. It will dilute the heat right out. Be sure to make filters for both the intake and exhaust underneath the house! I had a massive gnat problem for a while because my exhaust wasn't sealed. (I use giant tubs with furnace filters hot-glued over the top. Screw paying $100+ for a filter!)

I personally buy strains that advertise low odor, plus it is legal where I live. Smell accomplished. My cords are just a bit too short to put the ballasts under the home, but I always thought it was a great idea. Tip, if you are cutting a hole in the wall to put in an a/c unit, be sure to take the a/c unit apart first and completely light proof it!!! Oh my god that is still a problem for me. The thing is caulked in the wall and I have to use cardboard to deflect/remove the light that leaks through it. Also, you will need a/c in the summer, no doubt. Even with (1) 600w running and air circulating fully through house, it will get to 87'F. My 8000btu a/c just barely cuts it with 3x600w during flower.

User mike4c4 is right about light cost, but the a/c and dehumidifier are the real expensive ones. 6+/-amps each @120v, booo!

Oh yeah, security. Screw that crummy back shut and caulk it! Reinforce the front door/deabolt strike plate with 4" deck screws to take a major blow. If the door is bad, have the whole thing replaced. Put up those phoney dome cameras outside. Wait for a trailer that is not crammed in the middle of the park where everyone can see everything you do. Luckily mine is on a concrete pad, I did lots of work underneath, rose no suspicions. Some parks are totally ghetto and filled with losers, some are totally normal family neighborhoods. I live in a family neighborhood. I absolutely believe that a mobile home is the best place to grow, given a good neighborhood.

edit: Bug bomb the inside and underneath of the home before moving in. One of the great things about a mobile home is being off the ground. I think this helps immensely. Don't buy a home that is underneath any sort of pine tree, they can carry eriophyid mites (an asst of mites) that are nearly microscopic and cause cause horrible problems, not easy to get rid of. (hemp russet mites, rust mites, etc..)

OP still hasn't stated if he's going to be in a park or elsewhere. That's the huge factor. If in a park then smell control is your top priority. Triple it during harvest. Those walls be thin. A friend of mine did a SOG in the far bathroom's tub under a 600 watt HPS in his trailer. Just be sure to close the floor vents up if you're not venting through them. Smell travels through those like no ones business. Sound is also an issue. Those walls are thin. So keep your voices volume in mind if you have someone living with you. If you have to seal a window from light then hang a thick curtain up. Close it. Then slap some panda film behind it. Looks natural. Boarding it up might look funny.

I currently live in and am growing in a mobile home. At the minuet im only running a 250w hps in a 1.5ft x 1.5ft x 6ft closet, there are only two real problems i have run in to. Due to it being a mobile home insulation isint the greatest thing, during the night (outside temp 5-10'c) while lights are on my temp in the closet can drop as low as 15'c. The lowest its been woth lights on that I've seen was 7'c but could be colder that i just havent seen it, and then during the summer, during the day (outside temp 15-20'c) tempratures can sky rocket if you dont have them under controll. Just in the mobile its self not in my grow closet temps can get up to 30'c on a warm day. The second problem which isnt really a problem for me is the smell, i run no order controll atal and the whole place can stink up pretty quickly like someone is toking constant.

P.s. I live in Ireland so the temp thing may be differwnt where your from.

I honestly thought that North America was the only place in the world with mobile homes. (Trailers) We're not talking about recreational vehicles, right? Mine is 930 sq ft, 14x66'. I'm lucky to have 6" thick walls, very well insulated compared to most. Mine is so well sealed that I don't need to use the heat tape until about 5'F.

This is what I imagine a Europeon mobile home looking like, lol. (no offense, joking)

Ya it's fool proof. After you crop out make a bunch of hash and lay it out on your driveway.

i guess ya it totally depends on what type it is

most of the ones i see, when i go to campgrounds look like this their actually quite nice, i would totally live in one.
