Growing in Canada outdoor

Toronto area
4 girls outside since early May now looking good and flowering.
My plants are bigger this year than last year.
Am worried about the cool weather and ongoing showers.
- much wetter this year than last year.

My biggest girl is almost 10' tall

I agree with the wack conditions, very cool here in August as well. Flower comes late as well. I'm not to that stage. At the moment I have them covered up as they're in a wind alley. Well done looks good, this looks like it's sativa, as well as not topped. Do you find a good better yield that way outdoor? They said 50 mm of rain we probably got that already. So the tops up along with that back wall for wind

Outdoor plants get bigger than indoor plants.
I do not grow indoors as I find it too much of a hassle.
I get more than enough harvest allowing me to give away 3/4 of the harvest.
This is where my girls came from 2 years ago

I'm about an hour west of Toronto, in Waterloo region. The two at either side are from clones that I have grown before, Purple Prozac from Lucky 13 seeds on the left; plant on the right was marked DOG on seed pack but I was not able to get any other info about the history of it. The two in the middle are from seed that I grew last fall, had a male Hawaiin and used a female White Widow and that DOG clone in the tent. Seeds were popped in February to determine sex and cull any runts, but I didn't adjust light timing before putting them outside and they tried flowering, screwed the grow there. They all went into the ground in June. No major concerns with the PP or DOG, grew them last couple of years and both showed great resistance to bud rot and WPM and finish mid October(although they both seem a bit behind this year). I doubt the ones from seed make it to the finish, moisture will be an issue with them.

I'm grown insane OG along with another of same. Is there clones surprised one is producing so much better than the other. It's nothing to your magnitude. Restricted by pots I would say. It seems like these bags are much better way to go. You can see so much more of what's happening with your soil, irrigation. Possibly even fix root rot. I'm dealing with something but looks like corrosion. I know that's a metal term, it's not rust though. However it is obtainable on cannabis. This is not rubbing off though . I've been battling off and on since midsummer. It seems like I have a deficiency but feeding requirementsI'm at I don't want to overdo it. We just had tremendous rain so I can't feed today. Or can I, we had 50 mm Plus. I'll give you a couple photos as I didn't put up any in this post at all. I have a 5 gallon bucket out there that only caught a couple inches of rain. I'm assuming my plant got less than that.

How many times did you top that girl for

In Toronto (city proper, Riverdale) so container grown for space reasons. Have two Northern Lights that started to flower around August 1st. Also have three Apricot Kush that are much further along and will likely be ready in September. Hoping the weather holds until mid October at least for the NL ladies. Germinated mid May indoors, hardened off bit by bit and finally went outside second week of June. Everyone in 10G fabrics.

Next seasons run I’m going to try and focus on strains that won’t push too close to Fall. It’s a white knuckle ride sometimes up here

They were all topped once, trying to keep them a manageable size. I've grown in fabric pots and large plastic pots and found it was really difficult to grow larger plants and keep the ideal moisture level in soil, but the smaller size was better for fall, and much less daunting to dry/trim/cure. Having them in the ground makes the first 3/4 of the grow essentially hands off if you start with a good quality soil. I have only given extra nutrition to them once and had to hand water only twice so far this summer, that's the biggest benefit with them being in contact with the ground in my opinion. Other than spraying them with water and citric acid for IPM a couple of times and trimming the lower stuff for airflow, I don't really mess with them. The less I touch anything means there's less chance I screw something up.

Here is a picture of that Purple Prozac, I'm six feet tall and standing behind it, from Sept 18, 2021 which was the first year I ran it outdoors in the ground. It didn't grow real big in fabric grow bags or plastic pots for me, so I was dumbfounded when it ended up seven feet tall with a ten foot diameter. It was not fun to deal with later on in the fall and why I try to keep them a more manageable size now.

Near Hamilton area myself and my gals aren’t nearly as thick looking as some of the pics here. I was late to get them out and were barely 2 nodes grown, but they are some of the biggest outdoor plants I’ve done over the past 5 years. I’ve had some WPM issues on my Blue Cindy and have removed a ton of the fan leaves for better airflow. Seems too of helped since I did it 3-4 days. I topped all of them at least 2-3 times and just kept pulling back for new limb growths to grow upwards. One plant is real small but my new pup had her fall out of her home pot twice and really stunted her growth, along as once for my Banana Kush Cake. Solo pics start with Banana Kush Cake, Cinderella 99, MAC, Slurricane, Blue Cindy, CBG Zerodue, and BlackBerry Moonrocks.

Hats off to you for personal growth that's a fair chunk for a backyard. Neighbors must love the aroma, surprising when you know what to look for how many girls you find in people's backyards. AKA walking dog. It's kind of like people going to look for flowers and birds. We've always heard BC's the best to grow, Canada wise. I think we all know though there's a specialty cannabis for each province. phenomenal Growers everywhere. Enjoy the pictures thank you hopefully you want to keep coming in. Be nice to see some buds in late September October. I'll be October,

That's my main consideration this year seems flower is late. Going to be cutting it close to frost heavy Frost. All the best

I’m finding the late flower is a common refrain this year from many people. A very overcast and wet summer with a side order of forest fire smoke/haze created some challenging conditions. Wishing a bountiful harvest to all

I would agree with that. We had some hot days in July, now in August we've been having temperatures of plus 10 at night and days around 20 to 25. I would like to at least get mid 20s for another 15-20 days. Hopefully we get some good weather, those hurricanes bugger off

Thanks. I do worry every now and then, but I tend to have good neighbours all around me. I try to keep my plants below 6 ft but this year they just kept growing and some like my Slurricane literally grew 6inches over night. Plus I always tell them I willing to share and know that both myself and my mom suffer from various ailments (wrist, knee, sleep and so on) been debating about covering my ass and pay for a grow license. My cousin did and can now grow like 17 plants outside or 57 inside.
