Growing Low Ryder...HELP! *NEWB*

Hey I have so many question so im gunna lay it all down but some background info first

Indoors- In a 2foot long 1 foot wide and 1 1/4 foot high Plastic box that has aluminum cover the entire inner surface (I can post picture)

I plan on growing low ryder autoflowering plants

I am putting 2 plants in my grow box

QUESTIONS

Lighting:
-Will a 75 watt Halogen PAR lamp be sufficient? (Link to lamp http://www.alldaylighting.com/Philips_PAR_30.html)
-What should the Light/Dark ratio be for the entire cycle, Is 18/6 good?
-Should I buy a 100w Florescent instead?

Soil:
-What soil would you recommend to buy? (Preferable sold at Home Depo, Canadian Tire, RONA)
-What Nutrients should I feed the plant and at what stage should I start feeding. (Preferable sold at Home Depo, Canadian Tire, RONA)

Water:
-How Often Should I water my plant starting from birth
-Can you explain what flushing is and how often is should be done

--My Plan-- This is how I plan on growing please tell me if it is correct
*Germinate Seeds
*Plant Seeds
*Water When Needed
*After 2 Weeks add Nutrience
*Continue Watering and Adding Nutrience
*after 2 months it should be ready to dry

How does that sound? tell me all the steps I should do that I don't have in my plan

Thanks a lot for reading and looking forward to hearing from everyone

HI welcome to the forum

first i think you may need a bigger box as lowryder will get about 3 foot including the pot but what you have will do for a start .

lowryder are great for you first grow easy to do

lights: i would think about even a 250 w cfl on ebay for about 70 bucks
http://www.ebay.com/itm/250w-250-Watt-6400k-CFL-energy-saving-lamp-Grow-Light-bulb-growing-Plug-and-Grow-/150855653047?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item231fb296b7

if thats not possible get about 5 x 100w small cfl bulbs about 8 bucks each
halogen lights are not recommended for growing

18/6 is perfect for auto plants

if you can get soil from plagron get it or something similar that does not have slow release nutrients in the mix as it will take months for them to grow i made this mistake with lowryder before.

id also water them every 2 days

you have the right idea get your own smoke :)

best of luck with the grow

flushing is what you do when you take your plant off nutrients at the end about 2 weeks before the end
all it is a good watering with clear water to wash any nutrients out

yea a bigger box .. with some good ventilation .. and some kind of odour controle (carbonfilter) and some CLFs or tubes ..

as weedluv say halogen is a no go .. way to much heat .. and pure light output/color ..

if I imagen a small box like that with no ventilation and a halogen light Im thinking 150F .. no air/co2 = cooke plants ..

not even close to mother nature .. but I guess you wont need the carbon filter then as odour will never become a problem as it WILL if you succed in growing a living plant ..

If you are going florescent you'll need 2 types, blue and red spectrum. You can get spectrum specific cfl's online or from the local hydro shop .2x 100w should be fine for 1 plant during veg but as soon as hairs start showing you need to turn 2x red on as well. With soil you should never feed all the time, alternate between waterings start with water-water-feed-water-water-feed then move up to water-feed-water-feed. Letting the soil dry and crust on top between waterings so air can get to the roots is essential. if your after a good reliable soil then bio bizz light mix is a good soil and the bio bizz range of nutes are amazing for tastie buds. also get a ph tester and keep the water and the nute mix at 6.5-6.8.
you will need more height

like the man above said do not go halogen you'll melt your box and burn your house down plus they cost a fortune to run:fire:

"18/6 is perfect for auto plants". Wrong. 20/4 is the desired light schedule for autos.

If you are interested in bushy plants I suggest you transplant them twice. I usually put new seedlings into a 12-16 oz solo cup.
Leave them there 10-14 days while they build a root system then put them in a small 4-inch pot for another 10-14 days. The
4-inch cup is not much bigger than the solo cup. That means the plant doesn't spend all it's time building roots again so most
all the time in the 4-incher translates to greener, bushier growth. Then do a final transplant into a 2-3 gallon pot. Remember, autos only
live for 2-3 months and a three-gallon pot will support a plant for 3 months. You waste time by using a pot larger than 3-gallons for autos.

Good luck, BigSteve.

PS -- I hope you realize there is a ton you are going to have to learn on the fly. Don't be shy about asking questions, eh?
