Growing Serious Ak-47, Reserva Privada's OG#18, and Barney's Blue Cheese

I just went in my grow room and found a branch of my Ak-47 laying on the ground. The branch snapped from the weight of the bud. I guess this is a clue showing that the buds are still getting heavier. It was a small branch that snapped, so I don't think it will break the bigger ones. I guess I will find out over the next week.

I bought a bag of some MK Ultra 2 nights ago, and it is some stinky shit. It just doesn't have a whole lot of kick to it. It has a descent taste though. I could have got some Blue Dream instead, but I had a bag of that just last week. I like to mix it up as much as I can. Otherwise I get burnt out on the same thing pretty quick. The Blue Dream has a very nice distinct taste to it. At least the Blue Dream that I have been able to get my hands on does. It doesn't have that much of a kick to it either, but it is very tastety.

StrawberryBlue.........Right now it smells like skunk with a hint of sweetness but i am sure it will give off a sweeter smell once it starts to make resin. I did nothing to it except for a little lst to get good side branching other than that i wanted to see how it would do without being topped i am going for a nice big cola. I have five barneys farm Vanilla Kush for next year im going to top them to see how they do. I go as cheap as possible on everything except nutes i use MG moisture control soil with no nutes for veg and started big bud and bud candy on week two of flower i will feed it again next week. Usually every other week i feed her since MG is a hot soil. I will keep you posted on her shes 5 1/5 ft tall put her out early june as a seed

That's good. I always like strains that have that skunky smell to them. I might just have to throw the Strawberry Blue somewhere in my future growing lineup. I use MG soil too, but I use the other MG soil that they have. I normally don't have to feed my plants at all during veg. I had been using MG nutes as well, but during my current grow I had to get some Cal/Mag. I bought some Botanicare nutes that came with some Grow and Bloom nutes as well. My plants seem to take these nutes alot better than the MG nutes. Although during my 1st grow I only used the MG nutes with great success imo. Anyways I was checking for some grow journals of this strain, and I found one with some pics of a really nice Strawberry Blue that looked great. Last time I checked I couldn't find any on this strain. I can't wait to see where the stretch on that bad boy is going to leave the height of that plant at? It's going to be a beast of a plant!

Yeah I used nothing but MG nutes and soil for a while with good results i just dont like how acidic the MG nutes are thats the only reason i went to Advanced Nutes for bloom. For veg i just let the time released nutes in the soil do their thing. I just hope the helicopters dont find it(knock on wood). But i dont think they will bother for just one plant then again you never know. I hid 20 gallons of water in the woods under some camo burlap for when we had all those hundred degree days with no rain. Thank baby jesus that its starting to cool down out finally. But yeah i think she will be a beast she is a moderate to heavy feeder i gave her full strength for her first one of flower nutes and she sucked it up like a champ no burn. I had to she was gettin a little red stem on me but that is all gone. Once she starts making me some resin i will post ya a pic

Sounds good to me.

So I cut a nice size bud off of my OG#18 a few days back to see how it tasted and everything after a proper drying, and I just got finished sampling my goods and WOW! This is by far my favorite strain that I have grown so far. It has a sweet n sour chemically taste to it, and this shit chokes me up after almost every hit that I take. It is a very hard hitting strain. I am in love with this shit and omg does it fucking stink! I honestly don't see how anyone can not like this strain as far as quality goes. Well any ways I am going to harvest this bad girl now.

Lookin forward to seeing some harvest shots soon! Any guesses on how the yields gonna turnout?

About a week from starting my room and that smoke report definitely got me re-excited (the expected bills from the hardware/hydro stores had put a quick damper on things..)

Jitters and headaches aside, this has me thinking I made the right move on strains and i'm about to get down with the clones harder then Star Wars.

I will post some pics after it is dried out.

Deff looking foward to the og18 pics. my buddy has a few outside now that are over 5ft tall and 8+ft around!

I decided to go ahead and harvest my Ak-47 this morning. I just now got all the fans leaves stripped off of her, but I still have a ways to go until it's finished. It smells really nice since I took it out of the grow room and started trimming her up. She is so sticky with trichs everywhere. I had to put on some latex gloves, so I can hadle it without my fingers turning a resin color. Lol! The buds on this girl look really nice too. I took a few picks so everyone can check her out. I hope you all enjoy!



I will post a smoke report and some final bud shots after it is dried and cured up for a week or so. I don't have any scales right now, so I won't be giving an exact final weight though. I will do the same with the OG#18 that I harvested too.

Looking real good job well done on your harvest. What was your stretch with the og 18 during flower. I plan On letting it grow around foot before flip?

Thanks! The stretch on my OG#18 was minimal. I flipped to 12/12 when it was about 13" tall I think it was. It finished up at about 20", so I would veg it a little taller than that if I was you. I topped mine and it bushed out nicely with an even canopy, but compared to the Ak-47 which was grown the same amount of time. The yield was lacking in the end. Next time I grow the #18 I will definitely let mine veg longer. The smoke is fantastic though so that makes up for the small yield.

Well this thread is at it's end now. I will be starting a new one shortly. I will post a link to it if anyone wants to follow it. Anyways I finished putting the Ak-47 into jars yesterday. The buds turned out to be kind of fluffy instead of super dense like the OG#18 did. I smoked a joint of it yesterday, and I really wasn't all that impressed with it. It had a nice buzz to it, but I thought the taste was kind of lacking. It isn't something that I would want to grow again. It has a nice yield to it, and I thought it was fairly easy to grow. It is covered in trichs, so it looks really good. It might be that I am just not that into straight up sativa strains. The OG#18 is smoking really good though. Everyone that I have smoked some with was impressed by it to say the least. I've found a few seeds here and there though. I'm actually quite happy that I have found some seeds. I won't have to buy anymore of this strain for a long time now.

Great journal bro, I have a sour kush that is very lackluster, I think i did something wrong with that one but it is a better smoke than i can get anywhere now but my kandy kush is a beast taste straight like hash right now love some Kandy.Please do link your next grow I'll be through there.peace +rep for a awesome grow

Thanks Noob! You know I seriously doubt that it was anything you did wrong. It was probably just a dud. It looked really good though! It sounds just like my Ak-47. Some strains are just a hit and miss anyway. I wish that wasn't the case but that is the reality of what we are dealing with when growing cannabis. I made some bho yesterday with my trim from harvest. I got a nice looking glob that I haven't tried yet. It looks quite yummy! I will post a pic of that later too when I start that new thread. I have to take some pics first though.
