we're goin again, this time getting a better harvest.
heres the second run. the cred really impressed us the most. so i am running the f2 twogX cred. just have sprouting seeds right now. but since i dont have any of the hydro setup yet im glad. started them in soil. 9 popped within 2 days. leaving the rest to see if they pop also. just waititng now. if i am not able to get the hydro going. cause im one poor ass cracker, ill reuse the few bags, and buckets i have and run the entire cycle again. going to vegg them shorter anf flower them sooner this time. also have to get new nutes. humbolt county nutes are CRAPOLA. but i got ewm free, so thanks.

the jackie o is poppin left and right now too, have more sprounts than i do soil to put them in!!!!

for the first timers of which i hope theres a few, here's what im growing.

Cred-this was a very bushy Columbian Red that took about 70 days and didn't finish outdoors on time. I had acquired an Auto Affie that was crossed with Trainwreck x Ogres (TWOG as I call it). All the auto generating traits are removed from backcrossing back to the TWOG until stabilized. What it will do is shave off about 10 days to over 2 weeks off the finishing time and an increased potency to an already nice sat. Taste was nothing spectacular, peppered-earth. This cross should finish in about 65 days, maybe a few sooner.

JackiO- Aeric77's Calio x Jacks Candy. This too was crossed with the AATWOG and should finish about the same time. It might also carry on a Mango taste (Orange x Afghani). Most of these were your typical columnar Christmas Trees that would have liked an additional 2 weeks or so. The freeze caused me to pull everything before it's time, glad the seeds matured. ( 9 out of 10 germ rate). Should be a descent yielder.

TWOG- This is actually an Auto Affie x Trainwreck x Ogres. This was the main reason for seeding an entire crop. I needed those TWOG (AA) genetics to reduce the outdoor finishing times up here and plan on crossing many other strains we can't normally run outdoors. These aren't the biggest yielders but will probably become your favorite night time med. Nice earthy hash type flavour. These will probably be done in 55-60 days but I let them go until that first freeze, around the 70 day point.

these were how they were described by the breeder. budmiser. thanks bro. hope things go well for you.

since they were originally an outdoor strain i guess it was the indoor difference that gave my cred a different taste than BM's. had more chemical skunk.

the twog wasnt very impressive at first, nor the jackie-o. but after they cured you wanna talk about stoned!! powerful buzz.

anyways heres where we are right now.

i dont feel like labeling the seeds still germing, so the top few is cred. snd row is jackie o last night, most of them popped. and the few twog i am running.GEDC0149.jpgGEDC0148.jpgGEDC0151.jpgGEDC0152.jpgGEDC0150.jpgGEDC0123.jpgGEDC0125.jpgGEDC0124.jpg

so today is day 4 of this cycle, i have alot above ground, and a few still to pop. the first set of cred are showing their 2nd set of leaves,
shit, i was going to put them in a nice neat order, but got lazy.
anyways, the different soil seems to be working just fine, seeds are poppin out after just 2 days in. looks normal.
only have this many going so that i have 12 fems that survive the sexxing.
just going to veg them for about 3 weeks, or 4 nodes. since im keeping one as a mother, i wont be as stressed about individual plant harvest as this is all just a prelude to the perpetual. step 1 acquire mother and successfully clone,

have 16 cred, 11 jackie-o and the 2 JACK HERRER. i was stoned and called them jorge cervantes. earlier. my mistake.

some of my seedlings are showing alot of yellowing on the cotylden leaves, shou;ld i worry about this?or just forget it. last time the cred did not turn yellow, and the others only had the minimalist amount of yellowing, whereas now, it is a noticably yekllowing.

Pictures?
Sounds a little like nute burn, I had the same problem when I transplanted my new purp strain seedling into Miracle Grow Potting Soil :-P
Provided the pictures prove it to be Nute Burn, a simple flushing is in order, and it should fix it right up, I just flushed mine and it never progressed any further.
The leaves won't heal or anything, but it won't spread any further. But after flushing you'll prob wanna skip your next watering, my soil is STILL moist from doing it a week ago.
It shouldn't over effect the growth or the plant overall.
Good luck!!!

THEY ARE STILL IN THE 6 INCH SEED CUPS, I ONLY WATER LIGHTLY ONCE A DAY, CAUSE I WANT THE ROOTS ( sorry, my pinky is angry for some reason today) to search for water.

hopefully these pics help. im a horrible camera operator. hopefully you can see the definate yellowing of the cotlyden's. they are all "praying" so i know its not under water, the soil they were put in is the same bag the last batch ran in.

can i veg a plant in these 2 liters untill sexx? i think i could looks like they will be bound a bit, but i think im going to do that, then only transplant the females, and put them back into veg in their new 3 gal bags.GEDC0201.jpgGEDC0205.jpgGEDC0211.jpgGEDC0209.jpgGEDC0208.jpgGEDC0210.jpgGEDC0202.jpg

not to sure about the yellowing. just wondering why are you watering a little every day? i would transplant into 1 gallon pots when they get big enough to need to be transplanted. then transplant the females like you want to into 3 gallon grow bags once they fill out the 1 gallon pots.

watering once a day because the soil gets hella dry, they are 14 inches below the 400 mh, they just get a little, not totally soaked. am i overwatering them? i think idid that last time too!! argh!! k not watering them till monday, then every other day?
trying to get the bags to transplant them, going to prolly have to put them into the 2 liters. then sex, reveg the fems, for a few more weeks, then flip.

i water by the weight of each pot. if it dont feel light i dont water it. most seem to be watered about the same time for the first couple of weeks

i think my partner thought he was "helping" we have sincve talked about it. and he did water a few times when he didnt know i had. now im back to the only one opening the tent, so should fix some of the problems.

heres pics from today. see the yellowing? kinda freakin me out, the new soil seems to be great, for my purposes anyways. i know there is much better soil, but considering it was 4 bucks a bag. i am not expecting the best.GEDC0215.jpgGEDC0216.jpgGEDC0220.jpgGEDC0212.jpgGEDC0213.jpgGEDC0214.jpgGEDC0217.jpg

noticed purpling on the cotlyden's. going to check my pages and see what the problem is, but for some reason my other journal with all my relkativeinfo isnt showing up in my started threads section. GEDC0223.jpgGEDC0214.jpgGEDC0226.jpgGEDC0219.jpgGEDC0225.jpgGEDC0215.jpg

put 3 twog into the tent today,, think they will be above ground by thursday.

they arent even 14 days old yet, if the problems persist i will try like a 1/4 strength grow mix, but i really dont want to, thinking it is just overwatering/heat/ poor air circulation, need another fan.

Sounds reasonable to me, but you should def flush the soil and control the nutes yourself. Those cheap soils can burn sproutlings like that.

Or I suppose for all the trouble, you could just buy a bag of FFOF. Are you gonna clone to sex them early? or just wait a few weeks and use standard sexing methods? AND, i'm pretty sure S1 in my thread is a female, I posted some pics, check em.

im not adept at cloning yet, so i am just going to vegg them for about 4 weeks, then switch the tent over to 12/12. culling all the males.
that way i am only transplanting the females into the 3 gallon grow bags, saving me time space AND money.
after they are sexxed and i have a tent of females, im gonna switch BACK to 18/6 for a few more weeks. then switching bulb to hps nad putting just the females into flower.
unfortuanatelsy i think i may have to restart.
the soil i "washed" didnt wash so well. i mixed just a few handfulls in with about 3 gallons of my unused promix. then used that to plant seedlings ( stupid stupi stupid) so of course i know have like 15 seedlings that are yellowing, dying, and burning. scrapping that soil, rinsing the cups and re starting my cred's in the kgrow soil. they seem to like it just fine. healthy plants, and bigger than the others.

so tonight i am putting 20 more cred's into a cloth and germ em. since im doing that, i also will be trying this "volcano on the seed "theory.
would be cool if i could sexx them from seed. but im pretty dopubtfull.

yeah, I was reading that too...seems like alot of nonsense, If you wanna disprove it by keeping track of what they become, I welcome it. But even the people on the site where it was originally posted said it was BS, not a single poster after that post believed it. So I wouldn't put too much stock in it ;-)

And what kind of herb are you growing that you have so many seeds lyin around?
