Habaneros pepper solution on 20 days old buds for prevention?

Since I had mites in my led dresser I figured I should make a habaneros pepper solution for spider mites for my other plants in a different room, the problem is that I dont know if it is bad to foliar spray the buds after 20 days of 12\12 (the solution is basically water mix with habaneros water) ... I just want to do it as prevention for now before the buds get too big. I cannot spray the leaves only because its a scrog and its all over the place. thanks

From what I've read (no way for me to test it) foliar feeding your flowering plants with anything will result in carcinogen production to some extent and is bad for your health. But, then again, inhaling smoke is bad for you.

That being said, in my experience you are good man. I've used a habanero mixture in the past as far along as 50 days with no noticeable adverse affects. Make sure to sufficiently dilute it though. And if you can, you may want to consider upgrading to neem oil in the future. I haven't had a pest problem in my new place so I can't vouch for it, but it's a pretty common problem solver among growers. Stay up and good luck man.

yes I had neem cake at home and I put a fair amount in my top dressing... just dont really have the money for the actual oil...

I know I still have quite a few ladybugs alive from almost 2 months ago now, I can say that there is at least 25-30 in the room, 5 minutes after I sprayed with the pepper they were all out on the walls. So the fact that I still have a few ladybugs alive makes me think that they should be on top of the spider mites?

when I look very closely at the buds, some of them have little skinny white fuzzy hair on them, seems like it could be a web but I only found the odd one on the odd buds, and allways just one of them... it might just be some random fluff from the house... I hope! My room is pretty well sealed though... could be some of my old hairs!!

Having some garlic growing near will keep mites far away.

Won't need to spray anything.

wet dog, thanks for the reply, what if I topdressed my soil with a fair amount of it though,,, didnt spray neem oil on plants at all? I know this morning it was really stinky when i opened the door of the dresser. I am thinking of scratching one of the 2 plants... and now that you say that maybe the 2! I would like to know if it affects the taste when use as top dress because I used neem cake on my other 3 healthy plants as top top dressing with hot soil and wormcasting...they still have about 40 days to go, should I bother removing the top dress? thanks

since garlic takes forever to grow, would keeping garlic in the grow room help as well?

Neem meal is ok and won't affect taste. The residue from the oil can be nasty.

IDK, you could try the garlic cloves. You don't need to grow, grow the garlic, just have some green leaves from the sprouts. Like, just starting the garlic.

Yes I'm reviving this thread :P I have some small amounts of mites being seen throughout my 12 plants of OG Kush, Grand daddy P and Purple rain. I have mixed some canola oil with lemon juice and soaked everything last night. I'm about 15 days into flowering on two of the plants and 7 on the other 10. I was thinking of using habanero's and canola tonight. Any success with your blend? also I wonder if regular onions mixed or steeped somehow would help, they burn the hell out of your eyes when chopping them?

I used a similar recipe in the 2nd week of flower. This past week now I have no smell will the smell return when buds grow? Thanks

I have a quick question related to this topic. My brother made a pepper spray to eliminate his spider mite issue, unfortunately he used some of the hottest peppers on the planet (Trinidad scorpions) and I believe he made it WAAAAY to concentrated. He stated when he took a couple tokes, he couldn't even really inhale it deep and could only take one hit because it burned the shit out of his lung field. I was wondering if there was a way to rinse or remove such a large concentration of pepper spray from the bud once it has been harvested, dried and cured.... my guess is no or at least not without destroying the THC content of the bud. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance.
