Happy Little Trees

Been a while since I’ve done a grow log. This is a grow I started around early February. I try to run a perpetual harvest between three tents. The first tent is for starting veg, and the other two are for about a month of veg then transition into flower. I was running an 8x4’ tent for a couple years but eventually ran into foxtailing from too little head room. Decided last year to pick up 3 Gorilla tents. A 2x4’ and two 4x4’ with one foot height extensions.
I try to grow as organic and holistic as I can to keep the smoke clean. I could learn more about compost teas, etc, but I try to keep it as simple possible. I use Down to Earth blood meal, seabird guano, Langbeinite, and recently started humid acid add ins. These are either top dressed or added to the base soil when transplanting. I also use Super Thrive early on and CalMag and Silica as needed. Molasses every once in a while to clean up the root zone.
The smaller plants are a number of different strains from White Truffle, (Isn’t She Lovely) Purple Pineapple Express x GG4, (Toe Jam) Chemdawg x Green Crack, and some freebies of a local shop’s Sunset Dreams. The larger plants are Purple Ghost Candy and Peyote WiFi. I’m also trying my luck with some Thiosulfate silver and spraying one branch on 4 plants.
On to the happy little trees!!2A036FAB-94E1-46EA-B2B1-66EDB41BCBD3.jpeg8EE64E49-54A6-4A2F-A3C1-C84D8F50B538.jpegCF6AAE9D-3019-467D-96B6-34C5FF1534FC.jpegCB79C144-1332-4C20-9B2E-891147E39D9B.jpegE5307943-52FB-4F83-9828-141FE34A9268.jpegD7DCFCAA-E902-4945-8560-0D1478D29BD6.jpeg3BB33985-791B-4650-ACEE-1C409E74DBAF.jpeg57344744-CE7F-4664-990A-4F144694AC34.jpeg

Weekend update. This will be a three part update. First is veg tent, second will be first flower, and finally second flower. I topped the little trees this morning. I have over 2 months I can invest into training and topping so I intend to use that to my advantage for the next flower cycle. I have them in 1 gallon fabric pots right now. Next weekend I will transplant them into 3 gallon fabric containers. The top row of the tent is 2x White Truffle, 2x Isn’t She Lovely, and 1x Toe Jam. The bottom row is 4x Sunset Dreams and 1x Toe Jam. Also including before and after topping photos.

Next, the first flower tent is 6x Purple Ghost Candy and 2x Peyote WiFi. They’re tagged, but I couldn’t tell you which is which in the photos. I have an 1800w led fixture and 4x 250w equivalent led shop lights for flowering. Each flowering tent is setup identically. They have been at 12/12 for almost a week at this point. One PGC is about a week older than the rest, but flipped at the same time. She is already throwing some good pistils.5602251C-87D6-4B85-8757-985C413F4A32.jpeg1CF4569E-CBB5-43F4-AA55-5769327303E1.jpeg4118EC7C-9297-419E-9BD2-A0638951D634.jpeg

Last, but certainly not least is flower tent #2. The left side is 2x PGC and the right is 2xPWF. These are a bit different than the others because I am using an aquifer soil combo. The pots are 7 gallon square fabrics. They have a hole cut in the bottom which houses a net pot with hydro rocks sitting in a 4 gallon reservoir tote. Each has a large bubble stone for oxygen distribution. The lids are setup so I can use an empty tote to swap out and clean the reservoir weekly.
I gave them all one dose of thiosulfate silver so far. Using modified snow cones for collars to prevent spray and identify which branches I’m trying to get pollen from. One PGC came from a seed of twins so I’m trying to feminize fertilize her to get a predisposition for twins.

Busy week this week. Had early signs of PM in one flower tent so I did a heavy defoliation in both flower tents. Then gave EVERY plant a good dose of Bush Doctor fungicide.
Took time yesterday to transplant the little ones into 3 gallon pots. I’ll take time tomorrow and get them all tied down for LST. The goal is to train and top them for 16 main branches. Cutting all growth eventually below the cuts for topping them.
I have a couple suspect males that I will have to cull if that ends up being the case. May be for the best because using a DWC soil combo causes them to really take off once the roots hit the water beneath. Having some breathing room for them in flower wouldn’t be bad.
My next grow I want to try and shake things up a bit. Do two plants. Once they’re out of starter cups, put them directly into 3 gallons to begin veg. Then get 20 gallon smart pots, possibly some Blumats for easier water maintenance, and scrog each plant to fit a 4x4. Just something for me to ponder since that is at least 3 months away from having room to start new plants.
On to the weekly pics.

Saturday check in. The stretch is finishing in both flower tents. May do another round of defoliating tomorrow. Other than that, just sitting back and watching the stack for the next couple months.
I did find a male to cull this week in the veg tent. I figured it was male by week 2 because it’s always been taller than the rest of the bunch. Once I start LST and mainlining the plants they begin to show pre flowers. I have a couple showing baby pistils, but a bunch still have yet to show anything. Starting HST with the little ones now. Have topped most of them to 4 terminal branches and cleaned any branches beneath away. Will continue this every couple weeks until I have 16 terminal branches for each plant.
On to the photos! First three; Flower tent A; Next three; Flower Tent B; Final three; Veg tent.

It’s that time again. Another Saturday, another update and photo show. The flower tents are chugging along nicely. The ones with water underneath are teaching me a few new things about how to keep them happy. One isn’t doing great at the moment. It has stem rot on a main stem and has climbed pretty far up. I’m going to let it ride for now and see how it goes. If it progresses too much then I’ll call it a loss and bin the plant for compost.
What I’ve learned and need to remember for future applications is that once I have a handful of good roots in the aquifers to stop watering them from the top. Just let them pull up whatever water they want and keep an eye on the reservoirs. Another thing is just how much they stretch when they begin flower. I have one plant that’s taller than I am now and it over tripled during stretch. If I continue to use this grow method I need to start trying Indica dominant or pure Indicas for this style.
My vegging plants are beginning their next round of LST. Have 4 now with pistils and 5 yet to determine. Over the next two weeks will remove non terminal branches and continue tying down until they’re ready for the next topping.
Started 4 new White Truffles because they’re BeLeaf genetics and I’ve heard around town they’re prone to hermie so I want make sure I have true females for my project. One came up a real Muto strange seedling. I have included a picture below.
First three flower A, next three flower B, final four veg tent.

It has surely been an interesting week in the garden. Had to bin one big plant that had recurring PM issues. The other three plants will be checked daily for any signs, and infected leaves removed until harvest.
The other flower tent had some sneaky monkeys. One Peyote WiFi grew two sizable banana clusters and pollinated without notice from me. So I will get some beans even though it wasn’t from my Thiosulfate silver experiment. I will try silver treatment again the next round, but for now I have some WiFi and Ghost Candy hybrids as well as some straight WiFi genetics for the future. Beyond that it’s just waiting and watching the flowers build.
The veg tent is doing its thing. Mainlines are continuing to grow and I will keep LST until they are ready to flip.
Ordered a pack of buy 10 get 10 Purple Kush from ILGM for their 420 promo. Those will be fun when I eventually get time and space to grow those. 100% Indica strain, which I haven’t grown in a bit.
First three pics Flower A, next three flower B, and again final four Veg tent.

The next month will be a long slog of waiting and watering. The flowers are coming along, and I’ve got plenty of beans on the way. I’m guessing between 100-200 from what I’ve seen so far.
The veg tent is beginning to fill out, so I’ll have to try and not let them get too crowded over the next month. I will be able to get one plant out next weekend to donate to my uncle. He gets one plant a year to grow in his yard. Past couple years it’s gotten over 10 feet high by the end. He got a couple pounds off of the one last year.
Still have 4 waiting to show gender. Will keep going and hoping they’re females. If that’s the case I’ll have 4 plants for each flower tent next round.
