Harvest Every Week SLH In DWC [Youtube Video Format]

Save those Canadian $ I think their exchange rate is better than ours right now. When is all that snow gonna melt up there jeez if we get 3 in. of snow around here the whole area closes down. How long is your outdoor grow season up there? I liked the new vids can't wait to see whats in the box, it's like the ending tease on a TV show lol. That SLH looks sooo good I think you would be good consulting for an MMJ you can use your vids as a selling point the proof is literally in the pudding (cups). Did I mention how good that SLH looks, DAMN. Can't wait to see results from that 400w I bet you get more weight from it. We go up to the UP (East end) every few years to see the inlaws we go across the river into Canada to get Molson XXX I can't get it here. The border guy ask if I have any alcohol or tobacco to declare I show him the 1 case for each adult but I always forget about the 4 cases boxed in the trunk and my brother inlaw will bring back a box of Cuban cigars. Someday they will catch me and take all the alcohol and fine me. I like shooting the shit too if you can't tell.

We get more than 3" every time it snows lol It should Melt around 4:20 or shortly thereafter ....
The OD season Round Here is from about June till the end of October When frost sets in 12/12 Light starts Late August Which Means we only have about a month and a half to flower outside We need fast finishing strains round here
.....The stuff In the box is coming along Nicely.... But to show it off would be like a stripper taking the clothes off before you get in the door ....What would be the point of going in after that ? lol :)
The 400w should Increase yield Overall Just a bit if I'm Lucky .....Molson.... I never actually thought of it as a regional Tho I guess it is .... thing I like it too :)

Dang after 4-20 (lol).... well at least it would be easy to hide Easter eggs for the youngins. Just stand at the front door and throw em out in the snow. Kids may not find em all until May though. They would stay busy looking for em anyway.
You could put a 2-3 week preflower on your OD before you take em out. Then of course it gets dicey if you have to haul em very far. I always thought about that, say you take out a few small ones still in veg and you have to keep em in the dark for a car ride to plant outside. Would a 30-40 min. car ride fuck it up since they would be in the dark?

A friend of mine over in IN. grows some really stinky skunk he grows in a corn field and it finishes before the farmer gets in there with a combine usually around end Sept. - 1st Oct.. One year he went overboard and the state police helicopter got it in Aug. now he does two or three plants in about 10-12 different spots. He grows some pretty good smoke but he doesn't buy or sell so it has to last all year and usually does. I couldn't imagine growing something that smells that strong in your house. Speaking of which did that carbon filter deal you made do any good? Could anyone smell the stuff you were growing outside that room?

My seeds have geremed and have been in rapid rooters for 2 days now. How long was it before you started to put your seedlings in air bubblier and then how long after that did you start giving em nutes?

I've looked for eggs in snow before lolz And yes every now and then you get that last one when the snow melts :)

You could start them like that inside But the problem with that is I want them outside under sun Getting really really big During veg.... I have no place to keep them all inside when they start getting big

I have been through a couple Indiana Cornfield Grows Down In the Coatsville Area :)

The fish Carbon I used to make that filter with was too fine It didn't want to let air flow through it properly .....So I upgraded to a Corona Style Ozone Generator That I never Use Due to the fact that the smell isn't too bad And we have no one to hide it from around here anyways...... The old filter eventually Got hung on our old light you can see it hanging there in some of the videos It helped deadened the Vibrations from that rigid ducting :)

It took about 3 days for my last seed to crack .....after it did it was 2 days in rockwool before it was poking out with lil leaves As soon as I saw the Lil Root poking out the bottom of the Wool ( about a week ) It went into the DWC with just water for about 2-3 weeks till they look big and strong enough to start taking nutrients After that :)

Ah yes Coatsville a little west of Indy cornfields as far as the eye can see.... I went out of town over the weekend came home and checked my tent everything looked ok but the temp was 90. I have that same 4" vortex that you have but I didn't have it running while I was gone. When I saw the temp was 90 I plugged it in checked temp again 15 min. latter and it was 78. That fan is a little overkill in my small tent but it works good, it sucks the sides of my tent in a little.

I found some smaller containers at walmart thought you might be interested to use for a mother. They are like a mini bucket hold 2 gal. total... 9" across and 10" tall with my net pot they hold 1.5 gal. to the bottom of net cup. I have 4 in my tent with plenty of room to move around. You can find them in the bakery dept. you just have to ask one of the girls working behind the counter. Their icing comes in them, here they sell em for a 1$. They also have the 4 or 5 gal sz. and a 3 or 3.5 gal sz. Do you think that 1.5 gal sz. will work out for me? I'm going to try and use this size thru the whole grow.

I hope it doesn't stink to much I can't see fitting a carbon scrubber in the tent with that fan there's just not enough room in that tent. The ozone generators that I have seen are pricey. Where and how much did you get yours? And where did you get that really small fan in your clone box?

God Lots Of Corn...90 is not so bad as long as it's not left too long... My First DWC grow I used a 2.5 gallon container and that work well for the first part of the plants life but as the roots got bigger and bigger It started raping the water right out of the buckets till I was Fully replacing it twice a week ...it worked.. But it was a lot of work to make it work.... if that makes sense lol >.< I recommend 3-4 Gallons Of Water per plant this is not too much for smaller plants and larger ones will take a bit to go through it all In a week between regular water changes.....I got my ozone generator after I saw one in use and how well it worked ....It was about 200$ Used on ebay Corona Discharge Style Not the bogus Light bulb kind .....Walmart or Menards Usually In spring Their like 6$ I don't know If they keep them In stock in winter you may be able to look it up online

Here are a couple of pics. They have been in buckets for 1 week 2nd set of true leafs starting to come on.IMGP1007.jpgIMGP1016.jpgdang these pics look big in this area hope I did this right.

The leafs are wide to be so small and have a fruit smell. All look ok except for the one in the back right it looks a bit stunted and the leafs are not developed as well as the others. Once I get females sorted from the males latter on I will go to larger buckets. Just hope for at least 1 female. Fingers crossed.

LUCKY!!!! Someday may I be a fraction as successful as you. You gotta do some harvest shots with that frosty bud. Can't wait to see the Tangerine Dream in there.

I can see the 3ed set of leaves coming on my little shits ? tho I picked up the net pots to see the roots and well there are no roots. Should I be concerned or does this take time? Their going on 2 weeks old. When do they start showing roots? Another ? I noticed your res. solution was dark on camera I guess it's nutes can you still see to do a ph test in your vial or do you have a ph meter? Another ? haha you didn't know I was going to bug the piss outta of you did ya I'm am starting to think of summer heat and trying to cool down my tent. I have central air and have a vent in the floor in my closet a few feet from my tent. I was thinking of a way to hook a dryer hose to that vent somehow. Do you know of a way to do this?

I heard you say you have a kid now congratulations. Enjoy them while they are young time goes very fast. Nothing will bring you more joy and at times drive you more crazy than a kid. My son is in college and I swear it seems like yesterday I was dropping him off at preschool. Give it time you will see what I mean. Yea that's right I'm an old fart well not that old.

** They're Fine... I don't use hydroton Your roots have to work around and through that first before they can drop....I put My Rockwool right into the net pot Sometimes with a very small Layer Of Pumice Under it (not often tho) So as soon as the root comes out the rockwool they go right into water ....
I had roots dangling In the water at 2 week after they sprouted In the rockwool....

I noticed your res. solution was dark on camera I guess it's nutes can you still see to do a ph test in your vial or do you have a ph meter?

The solution Is dark..... It's the flora Nova.... It's like mud ...Not clear colored liquids..... like river water... brown from a distance relatively clear in a cup up close It works with the ph drops But I do Have a digi tester now a cheapo Primo 25$ one works great

** I Do Indeed you can probably find this locally But this is what you need ....A stack Boot either 90 Degree or Center they have a couple other variations too....

Just put one of those over the Venting Grate In your house And Attach Flexi Ducting Directly into the tent

Ya I Have a 10 month old rugrat Now :) I never was a kid person But god do I love him ....I don't know How I ever Lived Before I had no Sleep And a crying Child lolz.... I wouldn't want it any other way :)

I love It .......This seems to be one of the only detailed Grow Threads On the net showcasing a Every week system as far as I Know (At least one titled as a Every week System Not Just "perpetual" where they don't actually say how perpetual it is lol) So Ask away I'm Here to Help Others Grasp the concept In general And Questions Were a part of the process I didn't want to leave out :)

Sweet I had no idea about the stack boot adapter that should do the trick. I was checking out that ph meter does it have a way to calibrate it? Does it come with calibration solution? The place I was looking at it has it for under 20 shipped not to bad of a price. The drops I'm using now are a pain in the butt I'm blue-green color blind. Everyday I have to use the ph down when I check it it's around 6.5 and I take it down to around 6 is it normal to have to adjust it everyday?

When I checked the roots today they were about an 1" and a half long through the bottom of the cup. I couldn't believe it in 1 day they did that.

Before I started watching your vids I had already started to put some grow items together and I ordered Advanced Nutrients 3 part grow, micro, bloom . today I called AN and was asking them how many ml of each to mix with a gallon of water. The guy told me at this stage to use 1/2 ml to a gallon and next week go up to 1 ml per gallon. He gave me the amounts for the full grow and it never goes over 3 ml per gallon. Could this be right? It seems low to me the 3 ml a gallon would only be 300 ppm. I thought the nutes you are using are similar to these and I remember you saying your ppm was like over 1000. Need some clarification on this.

How much space should there be between the bottom of cups and the res. I have had the water right up to the bottom of the cup but now that the roots are down I'm not sure if this is right.

Thanks for all of your help much appreciated.

You Should be able to just set it on your vent with the ducting running into the tent no screws no B/S ...Very easy take down come winter again :)

I was checking out that ph meter does it have a way to calibrate it? Does it come with calibration solution? The place I was looking at it has it for under 20 shipped not to bad of a price.

Yes It has 2 screws one for 7.01 solution and one for 4.01 you can get packets of it for like .99 cents (mine didn't come with any:( ...) I cut a small slit in the packet...when I'm done Calibrating it I roll and tape the packet up it stays good for awhile :)
The price is good and the unit works fine .....After you do this for long enough you don't use them on a regular basis not even for mixing the Nutrients up ...Eventually you just know how to make the shit right the first time (locking in) ...But you do have to use them when you have plant problems and you need to know how the ph and ppm's are doing

I'm using now are a pain in the butt I'm blue-green color blind. Everyday I have to use the ph down when I check it it's around 6.5 and I take it down to around 6 is it normal to have to adjust it everyday?

Drops kept my plants ph high for the longest time I couldn't tell the colors apart but I tried my best :) I never adjust my plants unless they have PH problem I can see Manifesting Itself Visibly In the Plants Leaves.....
Once a week I make a new batch of nutrients for each Tote This has the correct PH Set when I make It ...We just let it Drift From there Till Next week when we change It all over again .....every now and then (rare with GH Nova As it Has Ph Buffers In it) you will gets some PH Flux that needs mid week taking -care-of which is where the PH pen come in handy

When I checked the roots today they were about an 1" and a half long through the bottom of the cup. I couldn't believe it in 1 day they did that.
Roots grow unbelievably fast...... Faster than the plant up top at times...At 2 weeks In If the plant wasn't dead It was making roots... :)

Before I started watching your vids I had already started to put some grow items together and I ordered Advanced Nutrients 3 part grow, micro, bloom . today I called AN and was asking them how many ml of each to mix with a gallon of water. The guy told me............

I know nothing Of AN Never Used them Never will ..... I hate commission driven sales teams.... Nothing runs me off faster than a fake I want to sell you this bullshit smile, I'm your friend shit....I'm Not saying they don't work....I Just don't like the marketing approach ...From what I know of them they are nothing like Flora Nova At all ...Nova Is Ultra Simplistic (5 parts with all the additives included) ....AN Has a million Options (all of which cost money to try lol)...... As for 3 ml being 300 PPM per gallon, I know 1 Gram of salt in one liter of water is 1000PPM ..this weight to water ratio may be true for things like Salt But AN May be very concentrated or not so much ..... there are lots Of AN buffs Out there that can set you straight in this department

How much space should there be between the bottom of cups and the res. I have had the water right up to the bottom of the cup but now that the roots are down I'm not sure if this is right.

Wait till you have several nice long (6"-ish) roots in the water then lower it ....you can either go Gradually so the root tips are in the water Constantly Or you can lower it to a predetermined set level (How I do)..
If you do it all at once ....you don't want to lower the water so low that the roots dry out..... splattering bubbles will keep the roots wet If they are close enough to the water Even If they're Not Directly in it ..... look under your DWC lid to see If it's wet ...That's the action that will keep your roots happy While they Drop Into Deep Water ... My Cloner's net pots Sit Level With the water.....Mom Plant Has about a 2" gap of air .....The PreFlower Is Level With the Net Pots too.....And I have about 4 Inches Of air between Pot bottom and water surface to start off when I top off my Tent totes every week .....It slowly Gets used up by the plants and also evaporate a bit..... If My Plant Drinks A lot of water I may top It off Mid Week With Fresh Un-ph'ed water When it gets way low

Thanks for the answers to my ? I went ahead and ordered that ph meter can't wait till it gets here.

After talking to that guy at AN I emailed the co. to get an official recommendation on there nute usage. Your gonna love this one. Remember that story I told you about my drive through Canada and how I thought the gas price was for a gallon then found out it was a liter. Well when I talked to the AN guy on the phone I specifically told him I wanted the ml to gallon ratio he said yea yea .5 ml to a gallon. Then I read the email it was the same ml ratio but instead of to a gallon it is to a liter. If I never would have emailed that request I would have used 1/4 strength nutes. Then I find out AN is a Canadian co. I guess when it comes to Canadians I need to make myself much clearer. I think that vortex fan was made in Canada hell now I'm gonna have to go back over that setup and make sure that I hooked it up right lol. The email did include an interesting part on ph and nute delivery I will copy and paste a short portion of that below if you want to check it out. Seems you may be on to something. As far as my next nute purchase I will probably go with the flora nova products for simplicity of use and price. I don't live near a hydro store so I have to purchase everything online if I can't get it at a walmart.

Here is part of that email on ph and nute use.

When using a re circulating system, you will be dealing with one of two situations, either the reservoir is large enough to feed the plants for a week without the need to be topped up during the week or it is a small reservoir and in order to feed the plants through the week it will require to be topped up.

In case of reservoir that does not need to be topped up.

Add to the reservoir the amount of water that the plants are going to be using for the week, include some extra water to allow for evaporation.
Mix the nutrient solution at 1/6th of the strength that is suggested in the calculator for that week.
Example: If the plants need 1200 ppm for the week, divide 1200 by 6 and mix the reservoir at 200 – 250 ppm.
Allow the solution to sit long enough to stabilize the pH. Adjust pH
Feed the plants.
Allow the plants to feed on the solution and the pH to rise for 1 1/2 – 2 days before re adjusting the pH.

In case of reservoir that needs to be topped up with water during the week.

Add to reservoir the amount of water that the plants will use in 3 – 3 ½ days.
Mix the nutrient solution at the strength that is suggested in the calculator for that week.
Allow the solution to sit long enough to stabilize the pH. Adjust pH
Feed the plants

Allow the plants to feed on the solution for 1 1/2 – 2 days, top up with water to the original level first before re adjusting the pH, after adding the water allow solution to sit for an hour and re adjust the pH.

If growing in soil adjust the pH 6.3, in coco 5.8 – 6.0, in hydro 5.6.

When using a re circulating system having the pH rise after you start feeding the plants is a good thing, It means that the plants are up taking nutrient, it is important that it rises the plants up take different nutrients at different pH levels, allow the pH to rise for 1 ½ - 2 days at that point adjust the pH down to 5.6 again

'
I find that last part interesting after reading some grow journals on here several adjust ph daily. I guess it could be different depending on a certain nute recommendation but it sounds a lot like your method and well what are you harvesting like an ounce a week.

After seeing my roots go from barely a tip sticking out of the bottom of the cup a couple of days ago to today where they are at least 6" long I can see where my small buckets are eventually going to be a problem. I am thinking about switching them over to a tote for the remainder of this grow. By the time these are done I should be able to come up with enough kitty litter buckets for the next grow. Then I will have clones from current grow (hopefully). Any thoughts on this idea? If I do go to a tote and I find a male it seems the roots mixed with the females might be a problem how much cutting of the roots can a plant take? If some of the male roots get left mixed in with the female roots will this cause root rot or other problems?
Again thanks for your help.

Lol Sounds F'in Complicated >.< ....... Over the Course of the Every Week System Thus Far, I have Probably Corrected 5-6 Plants For PH Mid-Week, Out Of 31 To Date ...Mid Week Top Up Only Happens In The Last Couple Totes In the Flowering Tent Every Now And Then. All I do Is Pour Regular Ol' Water In it To suffice Till Water Change Monday's, It's Never Far Off ..
I haven't Kept Tabs On Weight But Ya If Averaged Out An Oz A week Maybe a little More ..There are Better weeks and Worse Weeks But Overall enough To keep 4 People Very Happy :)

Hopefully By the Time sexing Starts You can keep them Pretty Much Apart By Hand Daily ...Put the Bubbler In the Middle Of all of them to Push the roots away from each other with the water current as much as possible ....I have to Prune Large Masses of My Mom Plants roots off Mothly to keep her from Drinking too much water During the week ...They can take Quite A bit Of shit And Press On ...If they Did become tangled badly you could cut the Males roots at It's net pot, they will mush up Amongst the Others Healthy roots, and can be carefully rinsed out in a couple days (if it gets that far).....I used a plastic Divider In the every 2 week System But not to section off 3 parts of one tote ..It was just once in half ....

Damn you know its good when the stem looks smoke worthy lol. I will never look at a heavy frost in my yard again with out thinking of that super frosty bud. Nice job man. 31 harvest in 10 months is unreal it you didn't document it people wouldn't believe it. You need to patent this grow system I have seen no one else do this every week. Keep up the great work.

Lol Imma use that stem In my next batch of hash for sure ;) Ya I was a Little suprised at the Number myself ....I knew we were getting up there But when I went and counted it out like I did for the camera And looked at the time frame I was a little impressed myself lol ( I must be my biggest fan ) >.< I had always thought Of piecing Nice Versions of this together With A mother Keeper Tent And Variable Sized Flowering Tent Based On how long you want to flower for.... Longer strains require A bigger tent If I want to cut out the Awkward Preflower Box And Simplify It for folks ...No one has ever asked tho So I don't know How much of a market there is for it ..Not to mention I have no start up money lol :(

So, after viewing your first few movies a few months ago I completed up until now, I have to say i'm impressed with your results excluding the issues your had with your pesky cats!

I plan on following your grow setup but to my restrictions.

I am currently flowering 8 plants (OG x WW) using the typical method of 8-9 weeks of 12/12, currently day 23 (I have a journal on RIU)

Next time I think I will be setting up the following:

12 plants - 8 (OG x WW) and 4 (Tangerine Dream or Acapulco Gold).

Vegging room:
This will have my mothers and young clones.

Pre-flower room:
This will host the OG x WW for one week of it's life and the sativa dominant strain for 4 weeks.
One OG x WW in each week, one out each week.
One Sative plant in every 2 weeks, one out every 2 weeks.

3 seperate flowering rooms:
4 plants in each tent (seperated by strains).

In theory if I follow your general idea of 1 in 1 out i'll have a crop every week and to top it off a sativa crop every second week.

E.g.

Week 8 (Since first plant moved into flower) - OG x WW Harvest.
Week 9 - OG x WW Harvest + Sativa harvest (The sativas being in the pre-flower chamber an additional 3 weeks)
Week 10 - OG x WW Harvest
Week 11 - OG x WW Harvest + Sativa harvest (This could be the first sativa harvest depending on time constraints)
Week 12 - OG x WW Harvest.

Etc.

What do you think to this potential setup? I have space for the pre-flower tent to be about 1.4m high, so I think I have enough space to for the sativas for 4 weeks.
