Harvest Help !!!!!!!

plant was vegging for approx.5 weeks and so far its on its 5th week of budding. before anything . this isnt a normal setup. its just plants fans and a light. no Co2 or humidifiers or AC units. anyway. my purple kush plant seems ready to come down. i watered it 24 hours ago ( 8am on tuesday aug 6/08 ) and since then it hasnt taken in any of it ( the pot is as heavy as it was when i first fed her) theres minimal purple on all the leaves( the top being the most purple ) and some of the leaves are yellowed and wilted. part of this could be caused by the fact she's been fed with water only ( no nutes ... its only one plant ... once this girl and the other girl come down ... ive got 9 baby girls and 11 more on the way to make for a 20 plant show) how can i absolutely tell that this plant is ready ... i dont have any money cause of rent day so i cant afford any gadgets ) .. ive read that when 75% of the hairs are red that its ready to come down. oh and another factor .... the top cola has a part that is startin to yellow. i would get pics but my roomy is sleepin and i donno where his camera is .. any help would be nice .. if no help by mid to end of day ... im takin this bitch down to cure it up. also ... i only plan to get like an eighth out of this plant

That sometimes depends on what strain you are growing. I use 50% red hairs to white trichromes. I have tested my sight under a 30x microscope and the trichromes are milky white colored. The microscope I use from now on cost me only under $ 20

when 75% of hairs turn brown i cut

Get a scope if you really want to know for sure. If ya got more plants growing you'll need one anyway. 12 dollars.

ya aside from 75% of the hairs being brown .... the plant is like ... water logged or something .... i watered it yesturday morning and its still got the same amount of water in the pot since. so what would cause it to not drink the water other then it being done ?

Over-watering.

no not over watering .... because i watered it once yesturday morning and thats it ... no more then usual

Only five weeks of flower and you are going to harvest? Why are you flushing so early?

i have found in the first 2-3 weeks of flowering the plant uses alot of water .
than the water intake decreses

ya generally ... as for flushing early ..... i was planning to flush around 2 weeks or less before harvest .... so 6 - 7 weeks budding i figured it was a decent enough time ... not to mention its my 3rd time going through this .... first time using a MH. anyway .... i did end up taking her down ( it was only one plant ) these are the steps i took : cut down branch by branch ( 3 --> 8 inch long stems ) trimmed bigger leaves off and what smaller leaves i could get at ... then hung for a day/night ... then i cut the nugs off and dried em on a screen on my patio for a day/night ... oh and FYI i ended up gettin 16 grams wet lol about a quarter dry. i been smokin the small tiny nugs since i got off work and ya ... my friends n i are baked so the purple kush plant turned out good .... i got a 5 weeks budding Purple Indica plant thatll be ready in a month or less and it looks way more crystally then the kush.
