hey everyone,

decided to harvest last night and it worked out great:mrgreen: i closed off one of my bathrooms, turned off the lights and put a small fan in there for circulation. also im drying the trimmings on a piece of cardboard laying on the counter.

was checking the buds today they seem almost wet and they smell pretty good i wanna keep checking the smell every once in a while to check for mold

so how long should the whole drying process be? what i mean is how are the buds supposed to look/feel when there full dried?

Also the cola weighed out to a 6.0 wet how much would that weigh dried?

thx

:peace:

you should get about 20-25 % back in dry weight. i like to dry for 7-10 days depending on humidity. When they're crispy on the outside you can jar them for the night but let them breath the next day. After awhile you'll get the hang of it. Dont worry about it feeling to dry, notice the stem color when chopped and of a stem fully dried. Wet it is bright green and dried is much darker green. When the buds are feeling really dry and the stems are still wet the will remoistize the buds when sealed in a mason jar, then let it breath for a few hours. depending on how long you want to cure the "breathing time" will deminish. Always keep an eye on them in case of mold. Like i said after awhile you'll just know. happy harvesting

You can wait till the stem "snaps" i usally dont, not all the stems are the same thickness. it is a good way to gage for beginners. Depending on how much moisture is in the stems dictates how long to "burp" or let the buds breathe. hope this helps

can buds actually get too dry?

why do other people freeze theyre buds multiple times first storage or putting buds in jars too soon?

cant i just leave them dry for 2 weeks in cool, dry place and than put them into jars for storage?

depends on your definition of too dry i guess. i like mine to have that perfect techture, Dry but not over dried. If you break up your weed and it turns to powder, its too dry. unless that is your preference of course. The slower and longer the drying then process the smoother and tastier the buds. Quick dries and over drys produce harsh bud that burns uneven and quick

Yes if you just jar up some bud that is too green of course. But not only will it eventually mold you will ruin the bud. It will smell like hay. Sounds like you need some trial and error expierience. I'm trying to help. But you can read all you want, expierience is the best way.
