Harvest Time!-Pics

Greetings,

Today is week 6 exactly since starting the flowering cycle, and the Durban Poisons are ready to have the tops cut. This is an amazingly fast flowering plant, and all the buds are thick, dense and heavy. 38 tops and the chunkiest were selected and cut from 2 plants. There are still lots of fluffy buds on the lower branches, going to go another 2 weeks and then get those.

Here are the 2 DP before cutting:

Here is a closeup of the trichomes:

Here they are after topping (can you find the kitty?):

The tray all trimmed up:

I started 3 other plants at the same times as these 2-a Grapefruit Diesel, a Cheese, and a Skywalker and all 3 of them need several more weeks before they will even be close.

Cheers!

The seeds came from Greenhouse, I haven't seen the DP seeds in quite a while tho. They actually came from an order of Alaskan Ice and they threw in a mixed batch and DP was one of them.

I LOVE this strain!! It is a fast finisher-only 6 weeks, and it produces fat dense stinky potent buds. I've been searching for over a year and this is the ONE! (for now...) For indoor growing, you can't beat this one with a stick. It won't grow monsters, I started flowering at about 20" and they finished out at about 30", but PERFECT for indoor growing.

Did I say I LOVE this strain??:weed:

6 weeks actually sounds way too fast. your suppose to let the faster flowering indicas go for around 8 weeks. DP is suppose to be fairly sativa dominant, so i would guess that it needs to go longer.

it does look fairly ready though from the pics, so do what ya want. i am not trying to be one of the harvest at the exact perfect time nazis, just passin along an opinion.

Its only 8.6 % thc, thats put me off.
I don't really care about what the reviews say, or what strain this may actually be. I go by experience and quality. This is the fastest flowering variety with the best quality indoor smoke I have ever grown.

Whether it is truly DP or not I don't really give a shit, I DO NOT believe everything I read on the Internet about strains, I try if for myself and see how it turns out.

This is how this particular strain turned out, so I thougt I would share. All the speculation and "knowledge" about any particular strain should be personally tested before any decision is made about how you think it will turn out, but thanks for the supposed information about my grow.

Right on brother!! Right on! I feel the same way especially when reading negative stuff which is totally subjective. Enjoy your smoke bro and best of all you dont have to go out and buy it for a while :)

I hear ya, in all honesty this may not even be Durban Poison. It's "supposed" to be, it came in a mixed batch of thrown-in seeds from Greenhouse. I really don't care if it is DP or not, and I don't go by recommended flowering times. I always use the same method for determining when to harvest-look at the trichomes with a scope.

I was surprised that this was ready ofter only 6 weeks the first time I grew it, but it definitely is. The trichomes are 100% milky and starting to turn amber which is exactly where I like to harvest.

You bring up a good point, but you MUST go by bud readiness and not by recommended flowering times for the best results!:peace:

I haven't had to buy smoke in about 1 year now, which is just how long I have been growing. Medical Marijuana kicks ass, support AB 390 in California, Leaglize it for everyone!!!

That is completely different than any other Durban Poison I have ever seen.

Looks nice though, hopefully you made some seeds to keep the strain going :)

Different bud for different occasions :) Does it always have to be about getting as high as possible?

8.6% is still a good ammount of THC and the Dutch Passion Durban Poison is one of the finest smokes I have ever had.
