(and in general)
I am going to start this off with a HELLO.
I have gone through a lot of this site trying to see what it has to offer now that I have not used it for months.( side note: great update, love the new modern look.) It has always been a great place for information for me so I feel I should give back. In saying that, I never found that great of a tutorial, per say, for harvesting to late/late in general.
A little story to start off.
I have not done 100 grows, nor am I some highly intelligent person. So give me a break Im doing what I can to help.
In one of my first grow ops I was learning of course, not knowing how long to harvest. Let alone the fact I was using bag seed. Though thats past the fact, I still had no clue of when to harvest. I knew how to view the trichomes, and knew they had to be around 0- 60 % amber ( 0% being cloudy) due to your preference, but I had no certain knowledge to what I was doing was right. Took my chances and let it go longer than what most people would( due to patience). I thought I would harvest at about 8-9 weeks, well 9 turned into 12 and 12 into 13. I understand this is a first timers mistake though Im trying to explain. I was only following what people say, stick to the trichs listen to your plants, watch them ect ect, though when I finally said this is just too long the plants were basically dead. Not knowing that at the time, I harvested&cured, all during this time thinking I still had good buds, nice long some fluffy some more dense. And the best part was I had some of the best coloration happening that I had seen in marijuana hairs/ trichomes. Well about month and a half goes by maybe a little more and I finally go to smoke a few nugs and find out it was turning hermie by the time I harvested. Deep inside the nugs seeds were starting to form and a lot of them. Let alone the high was horrible, small body high no head high nasty taste. Just bad. And I knew I did everything right growing them, except the fact I harvested to late imo.
Ending point to the story is harvesting late can really hurt your quality of marijuana.
Now to say why this does this I do not understand I wish I did, and I wish I had some information to give though I dont.
The reason I did this was to get people to add to what I have said. Your stories, Opinions, Pictures, but all to do with harvesting and what are your best options of learning when the time is right.
(ps the picture of the lady is to just tweak you out, people say she switches directions I don't see it.
