Has anybody here attempted to make their own feminized seeds?

maybe then we should just have the "post new thread" button removed because just about everything has already been posted a shit ton of times, and I am sure you have been there a shit ton of times to tell the thread makers that all they need to do is google it or whatever. The point is, you can create a thread TODAY and get up to date and relevant info from people who are also posting TODAY, and hey maybe if you are lucky you will run into some USEFUL DIALOGUE with someone who isnt here to just trash everyone (which I have seen you do quite a fair bit).

Long story short, if everyone had your attitude towards asking questions, this whole website would be a lot less useful, and not much of a community.

Its really no wonder that such a shit attitude comes from someone who chooses for his avatar and name a character from a film, and probably the biggest douche bag in the film at that.

To begin with, this site is not nearly as useful as the puppies who mostly use it believe it to be. Most of what people say is anything from at best being partially correct to be totally incorrect. I have said it many times over the years, on this site and on others, that most people would be far better off purchasing a few good grow books and using Google than belonging to sites like this because site like this, this one even more so, is overflowing with myths and misconceptions and inaccuracies and urban legends and old hippie folklore, and it's all seen and believed by many as if it is all scientifically proven fact.

Sites like this are not actually sites for learning true facts. They are universities of ignorance where where myths and misconceptions and inaccuracies and urban legends and old hippie folklore are passed on from one crop of noobies to the next crop of noobies.

Never a day goes by where I will see someone ask something, receive some number of replies, sometimes pages of them, and one or two people will give an accurate or close enough to being accurate answer and the rest will totally miss the mark, they couldn't be more wrong if they tried, but because of the sheer number of near duplicate wrong/bad replies that are received the one or two correct or close enough to being correct replies are ignored. The person who asked the question seems to believe that if 10 or 30 or 80 people say basically the same thing, and only one or two say how things really are, the one or two have to be wrong, the larger number of people are idiotically and wrongly assumed to be accurate. The number of wrong answers outweighs the extremely limited number of correct or nearly correct answers to the point where they become believable.

As for a; "community?" Hah! This place has more trolls and pains in the ass than any site I have ever been a member of.

And if something, system-wise, should be done away with it's the search function. Most people don't use it so it could be done away with and the archives it accesses could be done away with because most everyone wants to ask a question that has been asked and answered near countless times already rather than simply use the search function and find all the very same info that they will get if they ask themselves.

I am averaging 7.75 messages/posts per day. Gee, I must live in front of my computer to be able to post a WHOPPING 7.75 messages in a single day.

I never realized how I was wasting my retirement years. Thank you for pointing it out to me. Maybe now I will make better use of the 50,000 acre lake behind my house and the country club I belong to and spend more time with family and friends.

Show me the post where I allegedly said that SubFool just made up the name to sound cool, and also the one where someone allegedly then told me it came from him working in A/C.


For someone so judgmental about what others know or do not know I would have thought that at some point you would have learned how to spell learned and instead not have used; "learnt."

If you had ever taken any film courses you would know that the Brick Top character is an extremely interesting character, is key to the entire film and that Alan Ford did a spectacular job playing him. His performance was the best among a number of very good performances.

I literally as of today tried this for the first time...using Silver Nitrate mixed with Sodium Thiosulfate...I am not sure how it will go, but everything went as planned thus far. I found a thing on how to do it and what to get and where to get it on another site... This is where I come to talk to people, I get my information elsewhere...I like to discuss the info here...which is why it doesn't matter if a million people have already asked the question...this is a forum and different people want to talk about different things...

You can't usually trust the internet for reliable information...anyone can post there and in no time a million people will list some bullshit as fact...oooh looking up artists and songs makes me so mad...a few years ago someone put Green Day as the band that did the song closing time, and sometimes still google will pull up links of Closing time By Greenday...it is not NOT greenday...it is Semisonic...it was their one hit wonder and some googling douchebag took it away from them...you have to really look to find the truth nugget in the internet's wisdom...and this site is not really for info..it is for ideas to be researched later, and discussions pertaining to ideas and what not...because it is true, a lot of people post utter inanity as fact and I am sure it messes up a lot of people....that don't know enough to check elsewhere for their info...but you can't be mean to people because they don't know better...not fair. That is the opposite of helping people..by saying like well it won't work because you are a dumbass...no good...no good. If I am tired of answering the same stupid question over and over I stop looking at those questions.

I tried this several times and it worked for the most part to produce feminized seeds.

Colchicene (look it up in Wikipedia) is a hormone-like pharmaceutical used primarily to treat Gout; however, there are botanical uses to manipulate the chromosomes of the plant in question.

The short version is:

Lightly scuff the surface of your seeds with an emery board or fine sandpaper. This will promote absorption of moisture and the hormones.

In a shot glass with PH-neutral/RO water, drop a single Colchicene tablet in, wait for it to dissolve and stir.

Soak your scuffed seeds in the shot glass for 6 hours; then rinse the seeds with plain water and finish germination using your favorite method (I like the wet paper towel method). When these sprout, I found that instead of 50% female/male that I get 80-90% females, with no outward genetic changes to either phenotype or potency. if you leave the seeds in the drugged solution for too long (12+ hours), this will probably not be the case.
