Hey Sean, I see you are still up too... I am waiting for my babies' light cycle to end so I can program that damn timer...lol

It looks I should be able to get it to work. I found the post on IC where I first saw this concept of light manipulation mentioned and it is from the book - How to Supercharge your Garden.

The schedule given is only for 5 days though, odd right? But it ends up covering the whole week???

Day 1 - Sunday, 6:00am til Monday, 3:36am
Day 2 - Monday, 3:36pm til Tuesday, 1:12pm
Day 3 - Wednesday, 1:12am til Wednesday, 10:48pm
Day 4 - Thursday, 10:48am til Friday 8:24am
Day 5 - Friday, 8:24pm til Saturday 6:00pm

So I am going to start it in about 30mins. I'm assuming this is the night schedule - But tell me, do you think the times listed are for the dark periods?

Gotta go back to IC for more info...brb

Can you tell me who started the thread on iC so I can check it out. :peace:

I have to agree. The intermatic timers are easy to program and have enough on/offs to accomplish this light cycle.

Okay I'm up now, can't believe I left my PC on all night (okay actually all morning since I didn't go to bed until about 6:30 am).

So my timer has 8 on/off cycles - that's 16 programmable events - I think we should be able to make this work with that.

I'd rather not wait for a new timer to arrive and have my girls getting stressed out by the lighting change any later in life for them. This is day 5 of flowering so I don't think it will matter much to them if I start this thing now.

SouthFloridaSean - I couldn't find the original article that I read, but I did locate Hempy's excerpt. I found this when I was looking for more info on HempyBuckets last week - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - 6 hours on 6 hours off 6 hours on 6 hours off

Sorry for my ignorance, but why do you stress the need for CO2 with this light schedule?
Well to get the most significant yield out of this program in a sealed environment co2 would definitely be recommended. No intake or exhaust. The only thing that will be exhausted is the aircooled lighting. There will however be a charcoal carbon filter & inline fan within the growroom 24/7 to take care of the smell from flower. Co2 @ 1500ppm during lights on on a cycle of 8 mins on every 1/2 hour. :peace:

To be honest the first time I heard of any light manipulation was when i heard of this schedule. I have the same book as well. Where can I find that in the bible? Pg # if you have it. Thx

I went to the Advanced Nutrients website again earlier and it was working faster today, but I didn't see any info on a lighting schedule. Could you have gotten it from somewhere else?

Also, it looks like the one I found will actually take an additional 2 weeks, unlike yours that is 2 weeks faster. totally bummed out...

ok with the book i have(page 19) it says

"i talked to dutch and canaiian growers who claims that plants flower under a 6 hour dayk and 12 hour light photoperiod. this expedited 18 hour photperiod regimen is supposed to work, but, im not sold on it, even though they claim that the harvest is not diminished at all, they assert they are getting 25% more marijuana at the same time. no electricity is saved. however, i have never visited the grow rooms to see personally."

you can rep me for doing some work if you would be so kind:mrgreen:

Now I just wait and see how the results turn out. :peace:

Trust me your not the only one.....but I know for a fact that this does work because other growers have documented factual information & have shown grow ops of what they have done on other forums. Some have said an increase in yield & others have said a slight decrease. I guess it all depends on ones environment. Welcome to the thread! :peace:

Very interesting. I have the digital timers and I'm going to sit down and see if I can program them to accelerate the light cycle. Very cool. It makes sense at first thought. I cant wait to try this.
