Has anyone tried this dry/cure process?

My first grow and I am trying to see if anyone has tried this and did it work well? I got this info from wiki:
A typical indicator that a plant is ready to be harvested is when 2/3 of the pistils have turned from white to reddish brown or other color. In general, harvesting consists of drying and curing. Curing is essential for the even distribution of moisture in the buds. A popular alternate method is the following:
  1. Dry: Buds left in well ventilated dark place for 24 hours
  2. Cure: Buds stored in sealed bag and left in dark place for 8 hours
  3. Dry: Buds left in well ventilated dark place for 16 hours
  4. Cure: Buds stored in sealed bag and left in dark place for 6 hours
  5. Dry: Buds left in well ventilated dark place for 12 hours
  6. Steps continued likewise as necessary
In 3–4 days buds are ready for consumption.[32]
My buds are hanging up and about to hit the 24 hour mark soon...I am pretty sure I am gonna try this unless the vets deem otherwise...Thanks kindly in advance for any time given!

First off examining the trichomes with at least 10x mag is a far better indicater of ripeness than just going by the color of the pistils.
Secondly hang drying for 24 hours is not gonna cut it, putting fresh weed in a plastic bag to cure is nonsense plastic is porous and not airtight all u will get is moldy buds.

This is what works for me,
Hang buds for 5 to 7 days making sure that stems DO NOT cleanly snap in two.
Put buds in airtight rubber sealed glass jars with mini hygrometer open after 24hrs if very wet or humidity above 70 % will leave in paper bag for few hours back into jars open once a day for first week. curing begins at about 65 % humidity when it reaches 55 % and about 4 week cure its at it very best

In my opinion, that is more fussing around than is necessary. Each time they are moved from the drying location to the curing location will disturb and damage the trichomes. Hang them for at least 3 days (it really should be until the stem nearly snaps, as a previous poster stated), and then begin the curing process.

In my personal experience - all quick drying attempts result in an inferior herb. Why waste all your patience in growing with some impatience to get smoking?

My buddy hangs them in a room with a Dehumidifier running on 60% for 2-3 days until the stem snaps.... He doesnt bother curing, and the smoke is ALWAYS top notch.... I think if you use a good seed to start, good nutrients, give a good flush at the end, and dry well, you will have good smoke.... Most weed doesnt need to be cured

One time I left them hanging for a while, forgot about one, and it literally dried completely. It smoked fast but I got super high. Tasted like shit though. No real reason to post this I just thought it was interesting. Sure fire way to keep it from molding though. :weed:
