I also thought I should note that if we do get this going and you were wanting to bring your own material to run that you should also have your own tools such as bags, buckets, etc.

I was also just thinking the only way you can bring your own material and run it during the workshop is if your 21 or older or have your red card. I hate to be that guy, but I also would hate to have the workshop get shut down cuz of some non sense.

Well having own materiel is obvious.

But for me, buying the tek to make it before coming to the workshop to learn about the tek is like the cart before the horse.

Doesn't make sense to even go learn anything at that point cuz you've already invested in what you are gonna use, may as well just read on the forums, lol.

what are we talking here? paid admission?

i wont have any trim for a while since i just ran a bunch of bubble myself. i like my process for extraction and likely wont switch it up too much. and i have no need for a machine because i just dont produce that much trim. but i would love to learn more about post-processing and curing - i currently press & decarb but dont make canolis. i would like to know more about the hows and whys between different processes and different results.

what about getting nikka t or someone involved w/ a different yet just as impressive process? i think he uses the freezer / microplane process.

anyone know much about this "live resin" that won the clinic a cup last month? i've always though of "live resin" as being like hand-rolled hashish of the old days.

You can read as much as you want, but you won't learn what your going to learn at this workshop from just reading forums. Also we are having a special guest come and teach us and others about this knowledge that he has had for 30+ years and you think we need to supply you with bags etc. also.

As far as the admission we really haven't talked about that just because we are still trying to get a place to hold the event which I do have a spot in mind, its just that its in the Springs and we feel it would be a better turn out in Denver. Saying that if we did have an admission it wouldn't be very much being that its just a workshop.
Also as far as you bringing your own material to run it's not really necessary to bring any, that's just for people who would like to bring their own and run while we do, I actually don't even own a machine and still run all mine by hand. If we were to get this rolling they way we want to, Nikka T could be considered for a another workshop, its just that its an all day event already and we would have to split each workshop up.

It's an opportunity to learn centuries old technique for making hash. Frenchys time is not free so yes there will be a charge just like everything else in life. Once we get a place and decide how many people Frenchy wants per class we will be able to give you a price. We are still in the planning and wanted to give you guys a heads up not a I'm the shit bitch fest. Like I stated this is not for everyone it's is a class for the connoisseur.

I think you missed my point. Or you need to call it something else, like a hashmaking meet-up instead of an educational workshop, I'm not asking for any handouts here, I'm just saying be clear on why you are even doing this, and that it would be stupid for me to buy bags or screens and whatever, before being exposed to the education. You don't start a business, then go get your MBA, you do it the other way round.

A workshop is meant to demo and educate those whom are interested in learning about and getting into something new, ideally from artisan level instructors. If you are putting something like this together, especially if you are considering charging the attendees, you should obviously have demo equipment and products, so that the attendee can then make an educated decision on what to use for their own process at home.

Ok since some people aren't getting it and need to be spoon fed here it goes. Frenchy has set up an 8 hour class to teach you the history and origin of hashish and his technique. He had a thread here that he is very active in and has gone over everything he's gonna teach in the class he says that there are some things he can't teach when not in person. He has a couple hour power point and lecture then we will be making hash. Hope this helps of not then maybe the class just isn't for you.

No need to be insulting. You guys are the ones that are being unclear. A power point presentation is nowhere close to a "workshop", nor should the organizers insult people for asking questions and giving feedback. And frankly this seems extremely unorganized. Sorry, call it like I see it.

I've directed you to every possible avenue to check out Frenchy and his style. Like I've said this class isn't for everyonem but the ones who do attend will be very happy they did. If you feel insulted I apologise just very frustrating trying to do something good for the Colorado scene and people act like they can do better.

I didn't mean to sound defensive either. Just wanted to clarify that I was indeed interested. :bigjoint:

As far as everyone else freaking out:
I think this threads purpose was just to gauge the interest and get some questions going about the concept of a hash making workshop / class / or whatever you wanna call it. It didn't seem to be the end all be all thread that has all the would be information already worked out. It seems still in the planning phase which is probably the reason why things seem unclear, because they are unclear and haven't been worked out.

I also don't think you are required to buy bags or do hands on hash making to attend and take something from the workshop / whatever. They are just saying IF you are interested in making hash during the workshop then you would need to bring your own supplies to do so. The only feasible way for them to supply you with bags is if they just integrate the cost of the supplies into the cost of the workshop. We all know that few people probably already have bags and even more people wouldn't wanna spend several hundred to attend a workshop for a type of hash making that might not even call to them in the long run.

Personally I just picture an intimate workshop with some true hash connoisseurs learning from a through and through true hash connoisseur. To me this sounds wonderful.
