Why would starter fluid be an inhalent? I belive it is just close to 100% alcohol

There are some pretty "clean" starter fluids out there. Just grab a copper pipe, place a jar at the end, and spray into the pipe. What's left in the jar should be almost straight ether. It's clean enough to take rag-hits but not to drink. In Ireland, back in the olden-days, the English over-taxed alcohol to the point where the Irish couldn't afford it. That's when they switched to drinking ether. The thing is, ether evaporates @ room temp so you have to drink it super-chilled. Quite a bit of it will vaporize in your stomache and come back out in the form of burps. As with any new rec. drug, do your homework. Bottled ether, even when kept in a refridgorator, has a tendency to explode so hiding it in the back of mothers' fridge is not a good idea. Cheers!

How does that separate the diethyl ether from the heptane or hexane? I just do not understand the mechanics.

Very interesting. I've read that drinking ether was also quite popular in the US after prohibition made alchohol illegal.
Have you tried, or heard of people doing this in modern times? I can imagine the effects would be very different from huffing it. I guess it can't be that pleasant though because it seems like people have only done it when they can't get alchohol.

I tried Glade one time in a plastic bag. Sickening but got blasted. Duster was another. but like someone else mentioned.
Nitrous is the Shit. I havent done it in a few years but I still have some Balloons and My Blue Cracker.
I love how the Cracker gets Cold with ice on it.
