Hay smell, ugh

So... I have some bud that is completely dry, possibly too dry (happens to be the only complaint I have received about this batch of bud) but everytime I put it in jars it sticks horribly of hay!

This bud smokes like dry bud, feels like dry bud, looks and weighs like you would expect dry bud to be but I'm too worried I'll muck it all up by leaving them in those jars (opened 2-3 times a day).

Is this normal? I'd like a little reassurance please

what kind of bud are your growing?

how long have you been putting it in jars?
Blackjack and Chrystal from nirvana; everytime I put them in jars the next day it smells like hay so i leave the jar open overnight and then try again. So far only Hay smell.

try leaving them in jars everyday with it closed. you should only open the jars and mix them up then let sit in jars with cap open for about 15 minutes everyday. DO THIS FOR ABOUT 3-4WEEKS.

No way, do NOT spray your nugs w/H20!

Hay smell is partly cheap genetics and partly drying too fast. There are a million threads on drying and curing. Study them. Proper drying/curing will usually eliminate hay smell unless your genetics are cursed. Good luck.

It's normal for the first couple of weeks after harvest - takes time curing to get that smell we all love.

if u need to add moisture to ur buds either add carrots or flour tortillas in a jar with ur pot its like it gives it a face lift :) maybe a 2-3 hours and ur buds should retain some of the moisture and not be so dry

and the chlorphyl has to brake down for the weed to not be harsh and to smell good ( curing ) 1-2 week hang dry then jars or brown bags i prefer jars i think bags take the smell rom the bud imo

Just to co-sign, you probably need to re-moisten your buds....as mentioned above carrots work well...you can use orange peels too. Moisture is your friend and enemy. Too much moisture causes mold.....not enough moisture and certain post-harvest metabolic processes (releasing of chlorophyl (hay smell), thc conversion, etc.) can't take place.
