Pretty sure he was referring to Acid and not Pot in Purple Haze.
Yes
Hendrix was singing about Purple Haze LSD
"Purple haze melting in my brain,
It's enough to drive a man insane....".

He used to pack tabs under his headband and let them absorb through his skin
whilst he gave a performance.

I visited the place in Morocco where he was inspired to write CASTLES MADE OF SAND.
There's an old Portuguese fort crumbing into the sea - It looks lie a sand castle being slowly washed away.....
(but you cannot get too into your own head before some dodgy fucking local starts pestering the hell out of you to buy some bullshit trinket off them!
"You buy souvenir Moroc....? I make very extra special price - Just you, no someone else JUST YOU.........etc etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseum !!!!!).

I've read a few people say that they dislike growing HAZE strains
but I never understood why.
Or, for that matter, what characteristics a stain must have to be considered a HAZE ???

What are these characteristics?

What difficulties can the HAZE strains cause for growers???
What Haze hybrids have you tried NorthofEngland?

lots of different ways to answer the "what makes a haze?" question and even more threads on the subject…. mr.nice threads and icmag are good starts.

people dislike growing Hazes because they stretch 3x-7x, take 3-6 months to finish, are nute sensitive, and often the grower must run several females to find a true keeper (like a 1/10 chance)...

Any one of these characteristics would be enough to doom a strain in plenty of gardens….

plus, some markets see no value in hazes...

but look at the Dutch, they get plenty of c5 haze, AG13, and Neville's Haze at top dollar.

Yup, Haze is a real polyhybrid and requires much selection. Plus everything else means not many people bother. However, when you find the one - you'll be happy.

I am growing Angel's Breath from Mr Nice
I got two girls and kept one bushy nice easy growing one.
It smells like rotten fruit and lemon citrus a little.
I have two cuttings already in flower. It stretched 3 1/2 times it's veg height, and is a beautiful plant. I put the cuttings in when they were only 10" tall and it seems to have slowed down the stretch a little..
Here is a quick description from seedfinder,

Heritage: Mango Haze x Afghan Haze
Family of breed: 12.5% NL5, 12.5% Skunk, 25% Afghan and 50% Haze
Breeder: Nevil and Shantibaba

Here is a couple bud pics today at 9 weeks. She is too heavy with buds now to move.

I'm growing the Super Lemon Haze right now. Problems I've encountered are:

1 -- Haze's (well this one anyway) is very sensitive to nutes. You overload them
and you'll burn those suckers.

2 -- Easy to overwater. I'd previously only ever run cheese grows. And they can
suck up some water those bad boys. Conversely, these SLH ladies don't take
anywhere near as much. Give them a good soaking and they'll take days to
suck all that up. Give them only as much as is absolutely necessary.

3 -- Water only when they need it. My best approach has been to wait until
the soil around the edge begins coming away from the inside of the pot. But
at the same time, you don't wanna let it get to the point where the leaves
start drooping -- I've found that it's a fine balancing act but once you get to
know the plants, you can pretty much judge exactly when to water.

I've had to learn as I've been going along with this haze strain. Yeah, I've made
a few mistakes but my plants are thriving and buds are growing nicely.

Oh yeah, that's another thing. The SLH has tended to be a bit slow when it
comes to flower development. But once they get going, they really begin
packing it on. And those frosty-as-hell buds and leaves smell awesome -- zesty
lemon smell that's really gonna have me savouring every hit.

Hope this has helped a bit. :-)
