Just joined this site to have a good resource while i grow.My first grow was one white widow that I veg'ed under 3 68 watt CFL's.About two week into flowering i added a 400 watt MH. Now going for bubbleponic and having a great time doing it all.

You'll want to use HPS for flowering. MH is for veg

Think its generally agreed the best flowering light combines HPS with MH or its blue tinted type equivalent. They even sell special high dollar bulbs which combine the spectrums etc. Bloom under straight MH is supposed to cause the plants to grow short and bushy with small buds I think.
