While new to this forum, and dope growing in general, I am a long time reefer addict, and aficionado of jazz cigarettes. In my life I have grown so many different species of plants i could not list them all, but here's the highlights
Potatoes, Waterlillies, Rhubarb, Tomatoes, Almonds, Carrots, Onions, Jasmine, Sage, Thyme, Parsley, Basil, African Violets, Elodea, Strawberries, Ginger, Ginseng, Bamboo, Hibiscus,Agave, Roses, Nasturtium, Mint, and my last project, Pineapples!
Growing Pineapples indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer is challenging, rewarding, and quite painful when moving 60 lbs of pointy spikey plant, dirt and pot in and out with the changing seasons. I think ill be fruiting this thing this winter. I'm tired of schlepping this thing through the house twice a year.
I may be able to provide some farmboy wisdom on various issues regarding horticulture, but i have a lot of questions of my own about cannabis growing, so i hope you will all be understanding.
I'm currently 2 weeks into my first grow since the 80's (a small planting of bagseed in a bamboo thicket that wound up feeding a few wild goats) I hope this endeavor goes better. Heres how I'm rolling as of now:
2 4foot T8 flourescent tubes at 48 watts each, 1 Ottlight, one warm white, and 2x 34 watt CFL Ottlights (Ott lights are 5600k full visible spectrum lights from sweden) in a 3'w x 3'd x 6'h foil reflected potter's shed
3 baby seedlings of Blueberry regular seed growing in a 5 gallon bucket Deep Water Culture using 1/2 ml Fox Farms grow big per liter of water, and a 170 liter per minute air pump feeding 1/4 in black tubing to two 1/2 inch air stones on a T connector
seeds were started on 4/20/2012 (lulz) in 1" rockwool cubes, seedlings are nestled in home-made pots made from styrofoam drink cups with 2 mm holes poked every 2 mm (about 50% of the cup is hole) then cut down to about 6 inches high and settled into a lightproof bucket and lid the whole thing, lights included cost me about $200 US.
I only transplanted them to the DWC yesterday, the lights are currently about 6" from my babies and they seem happy.
Anybody got any suggestions? bear in mind I'm broke as a joke, and have no solid plans on flowering yet.
