hello my fellow members, (and i dont mean "cocks"),

i want to use a 6" fan to draw fresh air through my air cooled lamp shades and expel the warm air outside.

i also want to use a 6" fan to expel the dirty warm air from the grow room to outside.

my problem is i have 2 fans i bought not 3.

if i make a hole in my sealed grow room in my attic to use as a passive intake i am worried about the noise in the surrounding attic if my mother stays over in the bedroom below and hears the fans in there.

will i be better just to buy another 6" fan to vent in.

i have not built the room yet i will start it this monday.

is there a lot of fan noise from a passive vent hole?

dont need 3 fans...

go like this

air cooled hood/duct/fan/duct to outside (this will be your output) (might want add a carbon filter)
duct from outside/fan/duct to room (input)

if noise is going to be a problem ...get a muffler...

ok, but do you think sucking the hot air from the room and lights dirctly in to the fan will damage it or will that air be cool enough.
or will i suck the air in to the carbon filter and then push the air through the lights and out?

Through the carbon filter over the lights and out. That's the best, most efficient way IMO.
