HELP!!! 99 Questions. First timer. Need advice

Hello Everyone,
This is my first post ever on any type of internet forum so please excuse me if I do something really stupid.

I've grown for the last few years but always just one plant, that's normally small, and right outside the back porch. This year however, I kinda shot for the moon. I started with about 14 plants. Some from seeds I bought two years ago and others from friends. Now, after I've weeded out males and lost a few to rampaging ground hogs in the early stages of their life span I'm down to 8.

Short side note this is by far the most fun and fascinating horticulture project I've ever undertook and enjoy every minute of it. Screw growing vegetable organically. This is where the party’s at. But now I'm at the point where everything seems to be on the verge of collapse.

So a quick over view. I have 8 plants planted fairly close together. I treated the soil last fall with manure and put down plastic to prevent weeds from coming up in slightly raised beds. I started them indoors for about 15 days and transplanted them in mid may. I live in the lower north east. 3 of the plants are from seed and our slowly budding and are leafy and green and big and I assume have sativa in them. The other five were gifts and are mixed bag genetically but are in full on flowering mode (indica???).

I've included a picture of the patch titled overview. Plants 3 and 5 are the ones from a seed catalogue.

So here are my questions. (pictures included and titled appropriately)

First. if you look at plant 2 its gone purple? WTF? What does this mean. Also some of the leaves are turning yellow. I've been reading that this might be cold. It got down to 55 at night last week. Is this bad? Or good? But otherwise it looks pretty awesome.

Second. All my plants appear to be in different stages of flowering. The indicas ( I assume their indicas. Feel free to correct me) are all sort of keeping pace with each other with plant number 6 being the big winner. But 3 and 4 are barely budding and plant number 5 doing nothing at all. WTF? FML.

Third. Is plant number 5 a hermaphrodite and should I remove it? Is it to late?

4th. If plant number 5 isn’t a hermaphrodite what can I do to get it flowering. I've only got about a month left before first frost. Help

5th. Plant number 7 is planted right next to number 6 i.e the big winner yet its going yellow and is kinda droopy and weird. The buds look ok. Anything I can do? if not, no big deal.

6th. All the leaves have little yellow spots. Every single plant has this to some degree. Is it lacking a mineral and is it late in the game to add it?

7th. Some of the buds have little pruple/blackneess around where it should be white? Sometimes it goes away. is this fungus?

All right everyone. If anyone can put in their two cents I would be eternally grateful. Any other advice or tips or encouragement helps.

OVERview

I wonder if some type of bug is eating them?? Its hard to say how long they have until they are done flowering you need to go buy a microscope from Radio Shack and check the trichomes to see if they are ready! I hope they do well they look fat bongsmilie

Well, the purple is normal, some strains have more than others but I believe lower temps will tend to bring the color out. The rest of the plants look good, except for two - the yellow one? Looks like something is maybe eating /killing it - I don't know what you can do about it. And the last does look like mold - if it is, you need to remove all the mold you can find.
As for the rest - healthy, lovely plants btw - but did you plant late? There is nothing you can do to force them to flower faster than they want to. Good luck!:peace:

Thanks for the input. The sativas went in a little late/ Early may but they were very small to begin with. Hopefully the two (plants 3 and 4) will be ready before frost. Plant 5 is a lost cause. It sucks because that was my favorite from day 1. The other guys started indorrs in aprill under lights. And were flowered early. Via a friend.

As for the fungus, I just went out to the garden to remove the offending buds. One plant has it on about thirty percent. As a first timer you can understand its difficult to start cutting away so I'm posting some more pics. Im hoping more pics lead to more opinions. If its the case I'll go back out and start hacking away. Or can I use some sort of fungus.

But the worst is as I was removing the offending areas I looked underneath one of the if fan leaves and there were two yellow hairy caterpillars. F me. Im going to assume that these are bud worms or evil moth caterpillars sent over by evil chinese republican communists overlords. I'm going to the store to by BT now. Or some safe worm killer. Any thought on this stuff?? Anything else I can do. I dont have the time to pick through them one by one. Plus my plants arrrrrghhh like 8 ft tall.

I've set a rough pick date of rocktober 15th. If I spray today will it affect taste?????

Allright. thanks for the help everyone. Anymore advice is very appreciated. After being a creeper on this site all sumer its nice to finally talk to you folks in person via the internet.

Peace
