Help a Grow Gurl out Please!

Hi All,
I'm an experienced grower but I made a bad decision in switching soil. Don't ask me why or tell me that when you want to make a change, only change one grid or a few plants. I just need to get this round out and get back to my old school routine that was working really well. Don't ask me why I changed. I guess I needed a little excitement!
So I'm at week four flower and I've got Blue CHeese and Pandora's box which I grew from seed. Another scary decision. But I digress...
The soil I got was very HOT. When I gave a first (and only at this point) feeding, my runoff was 2300!! I flushed and have only been using plain PH water since then. Today my runoff is at 800-1000ppm. Buds look healthy, nice white hairs, but many upper leaves are turning yellow, or brown and crispy and some are curling up. I'm thinking this is due to the initial over nute-ing and they are still getting some "flashbacks" from this over abundance of nutes. I don't want to feed because they look stressed and since the runoff is still at a decent level, I'm thinking they don't need it.
To remedy I have given them Clearex a couple times and Superthrive every watering. Also liquid seaweed once a week.
Please give me your feedback fellas (and women, if you are reading this, you are welcome as well of course).
Thanking you in advance with gratitude and love,

So what soil was you using and why did you switch?
Can you tell us or is it top secret? Nutrientization and
intoxication of the leaves you burnt the shit out of it~

It was Sunland and it was also infested with gnats because of bad bonemeal apparently. Thanks for your replies. I did flush once right after that episode. You think I should flush again? runoff now is 800-1000. Week 4...don't they need to be fed?? I switched because I met this woman who is Clean Green certified, I got all into it and used her soil she touted as so fabulous. Then she got root aphids and switched to the frikkin soil I been using 4 @#$%**!! years!

uuhhhhh. imo theres no fixing those. point of no return. sorry

I wouldnt feed em, id flush em again, imo new growth getting burned or going bad is usually nute burn, from whatever ph lockout or just too much nutes(ur situation).
sorry. that sucks. I normally just give em water for the rest of the grow and end up with premature buds :(

Well if its organic then flushing it is gonna keep activating the nutes.

Definately frying her. I'm sure you know the damage is done, can only look forward to new growth now.

How long have they been in the hot soil?

well this time it is nute burn :) really the only nute that can burn is nitrogen, its very salty compared to P & K.

flush and get your nutes in the 1000-1500 range. dont do more than 1500 even if it can handle it. plants grow slowly and produce small leafs when fed ppm's higher then 1500. a mature 7"+ plant will grow big leafs (big enough to cover your face) if you keep the ppm around 1200.

I would stop with the clearex and ST. No more flush and just plain water for a week or 2. Your call, you'll be able to tell by the new growth. The seaweed once/week should be ok.

You zipped them pretty good, but your PPM's are decent now and I would just let them recover and not try to *fix* them more. The buds look healthy and the new growth shouldn't be far behind.

LOL, some learning experience huh? Certifications don't mean much when they are trying to sell you something.:peace:

when u say get nutes in 1000-1500 range do you mean leave out the N? Is that possible? The soil is organic...someone else said that flushing will reactivate the nutes...what to do? I'm just going to keep watering plain and experiment with two plants with nutes I guess...

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. It's comforting to read after reading another one which said that it's basically dusted...Thank you! That is what I was thinking also. Thank you thank you thank you...and yes, certifications don't mean s*it really. But for the record she wasn't trying to sell me something per se, maybe just in an egoic way which I find all too often in this industry...

I would have just added the seaweed once after the flush, any more times probably starting to build up too much, seaweed is pretty strong organically, maybe that was the problem after lowering nutes and getting over the burn.

Oh and everything wetdog said too. Peace

what up chica im a soil organic grower my self to your ppm was high, cut back on that superthirve.I know alot of people to use that shit back in day but it becomes a cructch for your plants and its not organic, at all. I dont know if growing organic is your thing but you should try it. Oh yea, about the soil. When you are using a hot soil you wana cook above 68 if possible for at least 2 1/2- 4 weeks. U wana let the ph drop off of a supersoil before you use it, if you have to use it buffer with lime bone meal (steamed ) and maybee some peace of mind bulb food 3-8-8 . It works as a great ph buffer if you have to use hot soil like now. Sorry one more thing stop your feading for about a week or more just give some ph ro water, and raise your lights for that time it will let the plants bounce back. turning to the bottle when your plants are burned llike that is a bad decesion. take it easy , from one grower to another peace.

There's not much point in measuring soil EC/ppm - it just doesn't mean much to the plants. I've grown perfect seedlings to flower in soil of 3000 ppm (seriously), which obviously wouldn't work in hydroponics. It's like pH that's different between soil and soilless mediums - the chemical conditions required for the plant in organic feeding are different.

Using all that clearex and flushing probably changed that, thus causing problems. I understand you didn't actually have any problem before you flushed (as you were feeding it. what was the solution ppm - and which nutrients?) - but you were scared by the high runoff ppm and started flushing - and this is when the problems started?

your microbiological life has probably sustained damage, this could be the source of the problems. What you want to do now is to bring your soil back to life. Use molasses or honey or brown sugar for your next feedings, and consider brewing and using a weakly diluted aerated compost tea. This will help with the life in the soil, essential for the plant when growing organic.
