HELLO friends just like the title staes am i cureing correctly, ok so far i hung a test bud upside down for 3 days in a cardboard box and the stem isnt snapping its spongy like, but the outside is dry and looks nice but it has a grassy hay smell to it. it went from skunky so hayish a few people said thats normal untill i transfer to the mason jars, but today i have moved it to paper bags ima leave it there for 2-3 days then tranfer to mason jars, i just want to know if im on the right track or should i do anything different and they have been in the dark since i chopped the test bud RH is at 35% im trying to get it to 50% im still working on that and room temp is at 75 so if you can help please criticize thanks every one.

that sounds ok to me, your on the right track it would seem. you aint gonna get to see if your cure worked properly by time the rest of the plant comes down though. i think it should be fine.

good smoking!

Just remember to check out the mj after putting it in the jars. Open the jar for some minutes every day untill you can have it closed for a couple of days without getting soft mj when you open it. If you forget this or just don't do it you have a risk of mold.
Your bud looks awsome and you will have some awsome smoke in some months from now - i'm happy for you ;O)

I would cure them in a cold cellar for a couple of months to really get a great taste and soft smoke - 5-6 months is even better.

haha yea its hard to cure that long with your first crop.. but after a while if you keep growing it gets easier.. and better...

Exactly - yes it's a loooong time on that first grow. A month will give you great weed too and probably only connoisseurs will taste a difference. As Reggaerican wrote you'll hopefully be having enough sometime to keep a special christmas jar or something to try out how good it will become from a proper long cure - it really is worth it. I will do anything - smoke leaf, speed dry and even buy some weed to keep my jars untouched until ready. Fortunately right now i don't have any problems on that account ;O))

Exactly - you'll be happy having a litlle christmas treat like that. At that time it will be special and you'll be rewarded for the work (wait).
