Help! Co2 and Inline fan

Hello all,

I have a few questions. I am a new grower. And need some assitance. I usually dont come to these forums but i really needed help.

I am growing indoors in an apartment. I have to use a carbon filter 24/7 to mask the smell. I also plan on using Co2. i am growing in a 4x4x6 tent.

Ill be growing hydro.

My questions are these
1) if i use a carbon filter with an exhaust system itll have to stay on all day, will the co2 get sucked out of the tent if the exhaust is on 24/7?

Or

2) would it make more sense to let the carbon filter sit inside the tent connected to an inline fan and let it go non stop inside the tent?

And have a seperate exhaust system for temperature control?

So basically have 2 fans? One inside the tent connected with the carbon filter, one pulling heat outside the tent.

With the second method, which is what i am thinking, I have a titan atlas and titan krotus that will automatically turn the exhaust off when co2 needs to be reflenshed vice versa with temperature.

Anyways any help is appreaciated, sorry for long read.

Air cooled hood and a fan/filter running just inside the tent not venting out would work if you can keep the temps controlled

Ya, needs a sealed system. air cooled hoods. Either your scrubber scrubbing the air inside your tent constantly but then you will, have positive pressure and push the out of the tent. Could push the co2 throgh the intake of a portable ac to create negative system plus 24/7 evacuation and co2 enrichment. Also could set your controller to kick on exhaust at 1650ppm and shut off at 1350 so your carbon plan stay right but also your exhaust isn't ever off for, more than 15 mins

Thanks for the reply bro.
Also i have the xtrasun 84 8 inch air cooled reflector, just to be clear I could have the filter running inside with a fan? And I can have an AC inside which will be auto so Ill set the temperature as well, and this would be only used if yemperature hapoens to get to high. I wont be hear all day just once or twice a day. And ill have the CO2 auto as well.

Ill be using the Kronus 4 as i got it free with an atlas 1 to control CO2. I also have a Humidifer, as it can get hot were I live.

Anyways,

I am not 100% sure what a closed loop is. I googled it and came up with this, would I set it up like this to keep heat lower, Have a duct going outside the tent grabing fresh air, a fan on the side of the duct and have the fan connect to the reflector, and have a duct on the opposide side going outside on the oppsoide side. and keeping the reflector glass window shut? heres a pic i found i attached it. It would be simliar to the picture i am assuming?

Keep in mind you can run a bit warmer with co2
Hi, what would you reccommend as the temperaturs with CO2?

how is a scrubber creating positive pressure in the room when it pushing and sucking at the same time with the same air.

save yourself alot of headcahes. unless you have a room with a mini split i would not use co2. if the room is completly sealed you do not have to worry about smell because the air isnt going to leave the room unless your using a burner then you will have to vent out the carbonmonoxide and stuff every so often before your burner comes back on. also hoods have air gaps in them and dual hose ac's suck up air also. so prepare yourself for alot of headaches if your not going bare bulb or using fully sealed cooltubes or something.

also co2 works better with strong lights like 1000w lights.

where did you get this info about venting some times if your using a burner?

well you can install an alarm but if you ever get incomplete combustion you will be producing carbon monoxide. i figure myself to be on the safe side to vent once every few hours also have a carbon monixide alarm.

it may no be a problem for most just a safety precaution.

  1. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and toxic gas. Smoking a cigarette; idling a gasoline engine; and burning fuel oil, wood, kerosene, natural gas, and propane all produce CO. High levels of CO can be produced when fuels are burned incompletely.

Well plants need co2 to grow. so i plan on ising co2. What would i need to do to "get a good seal"
Tents just aren't perfectly sealed. You can still, use co2, however it in a tent you will, use 20-40% more co2 than a perfect room. I have used co2 in tents a lot. Make sure you do your best to seal as much as you can, gasket your hoods, make sure your lines are all holey. Tape up the socks. If you have a local supplier for co2, it's really not expensive as people, make,it,to be.

Hello, thank u that is the response id wanted to hear.

I have a 20 pound co2 tank, itll cost 50$ to fill it. And if it lasts me a month, its fine.

I will seal everything as much as possible:)

The air around us has more c02 than your plants can use.

Taking advice you 'want to hear' is rarely a good thing.

What is your lighting setup?

I have done enough research, i am not taking that advice as a guess or something, its something i have read, however everyones setups are slightly different, thats why I needed someone with knowledge to confirm it.

Also plants can use up to 1500PPM, CO2 is what plants use to grow. more the better. Why use 300 or 400 ppm wen u can use 1200 to 1500.

Also I have 1000 Watt lights 4x4 area. Growing hydro.

your overpaying for you co2. the exchange at the local grow shop is like 18 bucks a tank for me(usually 20 bucks but i get a discount atm) for 20lb tanks.

Thanks bro I appreaciated it, I think its less than that. I just guessed on that. I can always take it somewere else. I got a 5 pound tank filled once for like 13$ from there.

Doesnt matter tho, i will grow elsewere.

My hydroponic shop charges 175 down, than charges 35 every refill lol so its better than that.

Also hey, was wondering on how i should water? I have a hydro top drip system. Do i put roots in water and feed 24/7? I can have the water on a timer also whatever u think is best
