HELP! Heat problems

I'm currently fighting high temps in my room and really don't want to see all my time and money burn up. My room is as follows:

8'x11'x9' Fully enclosed
14,000 BTU Edgestar AP14009COM dual hose Portable AC
2- Dual Lumatek 600 watt 240 Volt dimmable ballasts
1 Xtrasun 1k convertable Ballast
Co2 supplementation
1 20" Oscillating Fan on high
CAP 12 pot E&G

My lights are hung vertically, base up. Right now I have on 4 of the 600 watters dimmed down to 400 watts and the 1k is off.

With only 2 of the 600 watters dimmed down to 400, the temps in the room stay right at 81* with the AC unit cycling on and off.

With all 4 of the 600 watters dimmed down to 400, my temps are climbing up to 86*. I do NOT have my 1k watt on.

I've done the math to calculate the btu heat output of the 600's, and at full blast, going according to 4k btus/1k, I'm at 9600 btu's needed to cool the room, so with my 14k AC (correctly exhausted), I should be 4.4k btu's over what I need and right now, I'm overheating w/o having them all the way cranked.

What can I do? I'm nearing the end of my budget, but I can't lose my crop.

Also, the room is fully insulated with R13 plus polyfilm. Sorry no pics but PLEASE HELP.

Do you have fan? I don't see it listed. I'm sure you do, what cfm is it?
It's a 20" oscillating fan to circulate the air around the room. The room was designed though to be fully enclosed and just use AC for the cooling........ Right now though, I'm clueless as the math and the reality are not adding up. The AC is rated higher than what my equipment is putting out, and the ac is cycling on and off like it's supposed to and putting out cold air. Both hoses are hooked up so that the AC's compressor is being cooled by external air. :wall:

Know how to check it and/or replace it?
if i understood your post correctly, you have set the ac for below 81 degrees but it cycles off at 81 (tested with an independent thermometer?) , then that's your test there. you probably need a manufacturer's rep to fix it.

You're right, I do have it set below 81, but when it stops running, I've turned it down and it will cycle back on and maintain roughly the same temps. If it helps, the room is located in a garage and if it wasn't starting to get warmer, I would just rip out the insulation of one of the exterior walls, but once days hit 90 or so, that would be counterproductive.........

I'm going to call Edgestar tomorrow and try to go that way, but I'm not sold on that being the sole culprit........

I just don't know right now :-(

I just went ahead and switched my light times to on at 8pm and off at Noon so that my lights are off during the warmest part of the day. Hopefully that'll help with it. I'll update on Thursday with my highest temp I reach.

Figured I'd post my solution before this thread goes dead in hopes of someone else in need of help coming across it.

I had to switch my light cycle to turn off between noon and 8 pm during the hottest part of the day and now my temp ranges are from 71* to 75* with 77* being the all time high. Thanks again to all who helped.
