I have posted about something similar before...but now it has happened again, and I am worrying a little...need some insights......I have 7 plants going right now in one closet.
The strain is Ice, from 420-seeds in the UK.
All seven are definitely the same strain, definite indica characteristics. 29 days from seed, 400w MH bulb, 3 42 watt CFL side lights, 18/6 cycle, ebb & flow, rockwool/hydroton medium, AN full line nutes, 3xdayx15min feedings, RO water, pH 5.6 to 5.8, res changed weekly, temps ~83 day/~71 night, RH 55% day/%45% night, VPD 1.69 kPa 17.3 day/1.42 kPa night, approx. 9" tall, 8 nodes, roots are solid white and thick, leaves are flat and even and green, plants look lush overall.
Upon sprouting, two of them were twisted and mutated looking. In fact, one of them "topped" itself somehow, and is growing from the cotyledon's as two seperate stalks, but looks otherwise great. Another grew to the third node, then bent sideways, and at that point the stalk is 3/4" thick and looks like a broken stem healing (stem was not broken.....plant never touched or moved at that point), and now is growin sideways, like the plant LST'ed itself. I have read about Blueberry doing this kind of thing in seedling life, and they have straightened out and are growing great now, so I wasn't terribly worried.
Now, one of the plants that has looked healthy all along, very healthy in fact, is now showing a strange thing. At the 7th node of an 8 node plant, one set of leaves are growing together, liked webbed feet. I have searched for this, but can only find mention of an Aussie strain called Duckfoot. No health related reasons spring up.
Has anyone ever experienced this? I am left to assume that it is genetic, since the two others did similar things from birth, but it also freaks me out some. The only factor I can figure, is that this is a new closet and there could be some light leaking duirng the night cycle, but I have always (likeley falsely) believed that the TOTAL DARKNESS only really mattered in 12/12 situations, and that the faint light leaks I may have during the 6 hour veg darkness (it can't be more than auxillary light around the door from an incandescent lamp two roo ms away) but it is the only thing other than genetics I can think of.
PLEASE ANYONE!!! Any ideas if I need to be concerned?? I am thinking the potential for sexual confusion is there, but I dunno. Insight??? Please?? Genetics?? Other issues?? Failure to use a condom?? Breath mints?? Anything???
