 my first grow, 2 weeks old, in 3*4 inch pots with clayton balls at the core and fertilized soil,150 watt HPS at a distance of 30 cm, 18 hours + 2 hours under the sun daily. Fan, exhaust, the works. Was stupid enough to give them nutes since day 1 and after a few days of nice growing the leaves started turning yellow. I flushed them and started giving them just water (bottled - no idea about the ph). One of them got better while the other faked it and now is giving me yellow edges on each new leaf. and these few days I'm seeing new symptoms, the laves are curling (cupping) as if they're begging. I don't know what to do!!!!! I'm going to repot them tomorrow into sme big pots, and start giving them mild nutes. WHAT DO YOU GUYS think???? please read carefully what I wrote:(

well they are deffenatly getting way to much nutes. that fertilized soil u have could be time releassed and every time u water u release even more nutes..burning them even further. I suggest getting a soiless mis and putting them in that. Give only water and see if they improve

Well first Hi and welcome to RIU.

Stop it with the nutes, your going to fry her like a egg.
HPS isn't for vegging, it's mostly for flowering, you need to do some reading unless you
want to kill them or waste money.
Here is some useful links

You need to flush these guys ASAP fresh water 3x whatever the volume of soil you have.
Then ONLY give them a table spoon of molasses in the last gallon of water.
then dont give them any water until they have COMPLETELY dried out and just about to wilt.
in the meantime of waiting for them to pickup and dry out get a ph meter, your gonna need it.
Next find some 55-6500k lights, they will improve much much faster and grow better, it's what they need.
Dont mess with nutes for a good 3 weeks, they need to recover first.

also agreed, maybe just to a soil mix, soilless could stress them even more, get a soil without any ferts, they will burn them up as well.

As I understood I should relieve them of the fertilized soil they are in and repot them into soil without any ferts. HOW do I do that, should i hold them under water until the roots are soilless and then put them into the pot with the new soil or should I repot them into a bigger pot with the new soil and then flush them? Please bare with me guys

quite logical and as I read on the composition of the soil,(better late than never:() it's acidic and has all the nutes. That's what i deserve for not being attentive, but i never grew anything before!

Ah dont fret it, that's how I slayed my very first grow last year,
but I didn't get on a site like this and save em.

Yeah go get ya a soil mix that is something 50%ish of peatmoss and the rest perlite/vercumlite/pine bark/ogranic soil (thats what i use anyway, there is a ton of good soil mixes)
if you look in my albums I show the soil mix I use and I add vercumlite and worm casting to it and I have no soil issues, dont even have to test the PH anymore its always in range 6.9-7

What I did with a set was I got a large tub to soak the soil off the roots,
the running water could hurt the roots, and your roots touching something like a sink could
make them sick by germs ect. Im a health nut so if I wouldnt eat out of it
I wouldnt expect my plants to either.

then gently get the roots into the soil, no water no nothing, wait 1-2 days (2 if the soil is already mosit especially)
Ive done this for years planting all kinds of everything including weed and it works better,
the roots go down looking for water so they get better established than if you drown them some more.
All spoken from experience.
please do yourself a favor if it says MG, dont get it, plp say it works, but not for noobs, so
do yourself a favor and go with something else, what I use is in my albums so get ya some ideas.
They are def worth savign and i think they will pull though nice.

I don't know. On the backside it says:
this soil has all the necessary qualities to be agood cultivator. Ideal for repotting in pots and selfwatering plant pots ( iwonder what that is),plants transplanting and soil improvement.
Composition: black peat, white peat, lime, NPK fertilizer, trace elements.
Product of origin - vegetable. PH: 5,5 - 6,5 (cool foe after I get them out of this mess) resistance: 900 ohm/c/cm2, retention of water 400g/100g dry matter.
Any thoughts?
